It's only a pebble, but for me it's a Milestone

I got my first LIKE!

I know it's way too early for me to consider things like LIKES, or Page Views or even Hits to my web page, but having the Social Buttons added to my site for only one day and getting a LIKE! Well that's a milestone in my books. I know, it's only a small thing to get a like, for if it was on Facebook that this happened, all I would need to do is add any picture of GROUCHY CAT and get many likes for my "non-effort".

This like is special, it's different, and for me it's packed with meaning. It means -- to me at least -- that the work I'm doing by following the Bootcamp Course, and Course One of the Certification Course is well worth the effort. I feel like the new business owner that takes the first one dollar bill out of his till and mounts it on the wall for every one to see. I guess I could always take a screen cap of my page and add my first LIKE to my desktop as a symbol of what is to come with working through WA.

Another reason this LIKE has meaning for me, is that the post that I received the like on was also my first real review. My website is geared toward people that have never drawn in their life but would like to learn. I'm doing this by providing and reviewing all the resources that I personally used to learn to draw. I'm self taught and only draw for myself as a hobby. I'm hoping to help others to learn to draw by providing all the resources I used and make them available for anyone that wants to learn to draw.

The post was a book review of an art book that I have used and is one of my favourite texts. I added my own drawings to the post that I drew from exercises or examples from the book.

Getting a like is one thing, but it has also given me the confidence to straight-out ask WA members here to pop in and critique my post. My website is Foxxfyrre's Black and White Art and clicking the link will take you to my review post. I'm really hyped to hear some feedback! A warning though, if you do browse my site and go to the galleries, a lot of my pencil drawings are figurative drawings of the human form.

Thanks in advance,
Frank aka Foxxfyrre

Very nice, shared it to Google+

Thanks Labman, much appreciated

I like to draw too!

It's one of the only "real" hobbies that I have ever picked up or tried. I think that's why I want to share the experience I went trough so much.
