I would like to install the WooCommerce plug in but it says I need to update my PHP for my website. Any ideas how to do that?
Thanks
you need to get in touch with site support to move your site over to the new servers with the updated php.
click on hte help center and sitesupport and open a ticket
tell them you need the updated php to install woocommerce
they should respond with an offer to upgrade to the new beta servers - accept this and you should be sorted in a couple of hours.
then you will be able to install woocommerce - and have a faster site...
good luck

Updating php to install woo commerce plugin?

Hi Alan.
You may try to do the following.
1. Go to your account click the “API Downloads” tab and download the plugin. (However, when you have the basic/free version already installed do deactivate and delete the basic version before installing Premium Version to avoid any conflict.)
2. Then install the downloaded plugin into your WordPress / WooCommerce Site.
3. You will get an Activation Key and Activation Email at My Account (API Keys).
4. Go to your site admin and the Settings page of the plugin and activate it using email and key. All the best.

Hi
I have been toying with the idea of building websites and making them SEO friendly for Google and offering that as a service. Has anyone on WA had any experience of doing thi
Yes. But not with WordPress yet. I have used Cold Fusion, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, HTML, & various WIZYWIG software programs. They were done on midrange and mainframe computers as well as PCs. I am going to work that in on my online business that I am starting. :-) It will be a global business because 99% will be done "in the Cloud."
I have 18+ years of Information Technology consulting, so obviously, I will be offering other services as well.
Funny should bring that up, this is exactly what flew by my brain this afternoon. I have no experience, but would love the know the answers to your questions about pricing, etc.
Whenever you charge anything for a service always keep in mind what it would cost the client to do on their own or to have others do for them. That essentially forms the basis of your sales pitch.
Sure there are people in third world countries that can do stuff like this for them at a fraction of the cost that you may be charging, but then they (your potential clients) become project managers and that kind of defeats the purpose (another selling point for you).
Also, as far as SEO methods, are these third world vendors buying up bogus traffic with automated hits along with other black hat strategies? Again, it's all about positioning the client for the likelihood of failure if they decide not to use your services.
Also remember that you really control the situation. If a client is nickeling and diming you, think twice about whether you want to work with them. Those types of clients are usually your biggest headaches.
It helps if you have a portfolio to back up your price quotes and why you stand strong on those quotes. It helps even more if you can show from an SEO perspective that you took website(s) that had little traffic and using the techniques that you will employ for them, how you are now getting loads of traffic because of it. But if you don't have that reputation to start you can offer them a deal where they will be the clients that give you glowing reviews after you deliver for them. Do this for a couple of clients and you're good to go.
Personally, I think all SEO services should be charged on a monthly basis. Even with the website itself, you could offer them a certain number of SEO posts per month or something like that. All items such as graphics, audio, video, should be extra.
Good luck and let us know how you got on with this.
Best Regards,
Jim
Hi Jim Wow that was a amazing response, thank you so much. I will try and use those idea's . Thanks Alan
Have you got any examples of the work you provided and the amount you charged. The reason I ask is because I am not sure of the quality of the work that needs to be attained to charge for it.
I think my websites are not bad but I don't know if I could ask anyone to pay me for the work I could do.
Many thanks
Alan
Ey there Alan, just wondered if you pursued this? I'm doing my first site for a possible client and wondered if you had any tips for me? Thanks man! Randy

Could members of my circle let me know about the successes they have had and how long they have been a member of WA. I would like to use this info to help others join us on this am
All I can say is that I am learning so much and I am working on building a strong foundation.
Just been working full time here at WA and have one member sign up. With 33 referrals.
I've been working since last December, six days a week, and putting in about 6 to10 hours each day.
I think within six months I should have another paying member which will pay for my monthly fees.
Good luck...you gonna need it!
rick
So far for the last three months Ive struggled. Meaning one step forward and 3 steps back. So now I'm going back over the course a third time to help me fill in the details. I'm thinking within 4 years I should be able to pay my bills...which are...500 a month.
Hope this helps!
Hi Alan,
I'm a member since one year but I'm working on my site part time.
Having spent very little time in my site, I just did my first sale.....
This is the site I've created thanks to the trainings here and the other members's support:
www.thehealthypoint.com
Cheers!
I have just visited your site and left you a positive message. Well done on a wonderful website. Alan
Hi Alan just finished my word press web page .

Hi Fourtuna, I haven't been a member for very long and due to some medical issues I'm taking a bit longer to get through all the training but I see this as a long term process so am not working about any monetary success at this time
I find it is a snow ball effect the more effort = more content which = better results. Keep up the work. Thanks Alan
Hi Alan, You know I like to share with the community my success on the Internet, I have been with WA, 2 months now and have increased my overall profit margin in my online business by 204%. I make money every single day now and have learned the skill of building a site that makes money within 48 Hrs of publishing. These are all skills I have learned by following all the training and resources available here at WA. The one thing I have found to be a successful Internet marketer is to follow the money and take ACTION !!
I feel about the same way. I have learned a lot since I've been with WA, but I still have a few weaknesses yet. I still need to learn to be more social with social media. I don't know what to add or engage with on the days I don't have a new article written. I can't keep up with a new article everyday. I am building a good foundation for a successful business though.
Hi! Alan. I feel I have small successes everyday with this. I am not measuring this monetarily at this point. Just working on mastering the education here and the rest will come.
Hi Arick Thank you for the as always enlightening response. If you ever need any help from my humble self please let me know and if I can help I will.
