I do my own proofreading and I look at Word's suggestions but mostly ignore them. Red squiggly lines are the best indication of spelling errors and green lines for grammar. You can't beat the human touch for the final 'say'. ~Marion
I'm afraid I do not have a lot of input to give you.
I did read through the Grammarly link and I think it is a complete waste of time. I for sure would not purchase it.
I do editing myself (a role I took on within my teams while going through college) so I have never looked into automated software to do it for me.
I know it takes longer to have a human do it, but I too recommend a human editor.
Hi Florida, I would always go with a human proof reader. I'm afraid I have no knowledge of software.

Hi Florida. Yes there is certainly a time issue with doing it yourself. However, only you know what you are trying to say. Grammar checkers are limited to the convoluted rules of the English language which has so many exceptions that I am not convinced that it is ruled by laws at all!!!.

What do you think is the most effective proofreading tool?

So I submitted my site to Google PageSpeed Insights and got this https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fsupportinggamers.com%2F&tab=mobile
Ther
I was told that Wordpress dont entertain some JAVA thins too well.
Maybe to discourage hacking and virus scripts.
Hi Again. I hope you got some help from labman or loes.
I went into the pages that are linked from the Speed results page and found some useful tips the main one being you can input a standard code into your wordpress header through Appearances - Editor - Header - and insert the code just below <head>
Have a wee looksee, you never know. I think I told you that I get a friend to do HTML for me and he said it should work.
I would also make any images you have a wee bit smaller. It will make a difference to your download speed with mobile devices.
Have a nice day.
Robert
Hi. I know that if you ask other members they will say keep your image size but I still think you should have smaller pics/images because it’s the bigger size that will give you problems.
You must know yourself from using a Tablet or Smartphone that you can increase or decrease the size of a pic with your fingers when you have it on screen.
So a small but high resolution pic on your site page is what the Speed Test will tell you that you should have.
This sort of pic would then download faster and the user could enlarge themself if they wanted to see it bigger.
Hope this helps.
Robert
Yes, I learned how to do this just now Robert, am definitely going to adjust the resolution/dimensions of the images, might have to photoshop it though :D
Good for you. It pays to stop and have a wee think before you do stuff on the internet as you probably know.
You can still set the size of your pics when you upload them to your Media Libray and before you actually click the insert button. I still haven't been on my site to go through the process yet but when I do I will get back tom you.
Have anice day.
Robert
Will do. I know theres a video on this very subject.
I will ask a question and should get an answer within the hour.
Look out for it.
Robert
Hi. It didn't take long. Here's the link I got to that training.
http://onlinelabguy.com/wordpress-tutorial-how-to-images-in-wordpress
Let me know how you get on.
I will probably have a look at the video myself. Can't hurt, can it?
Robert
Just had a wee looksee and its an excellent video and has everything you need to know about pics/images and how to work with them.
Robert
I'm using W3TC, I actually figured it out already. Found a WP Programmer who is a member here who provided me with the link to a beginners tutorial for it :)
Lol! Every time I read about a way to speed up my site I try it and then end up breaking it...why am I still tempted?^^ Let me know if it works for you...*jealous much*
Hey Floridalma, can I ask what made you go with W3TC over the other cache plugins?
I have an issue on my site with loading speed, according to G Insights, this is because of the images.. I was going to ignore it for now, but seeing your question and blog this morning has reignited my curiosity!
C
"W3 Total Cache improves the user experience of your site by increasing server performance, reducing the download times and providing transparent content delivery network (CDN) integration." It is definitely user friendly and it has a lot of tutorials, it may just be somewhat technical at times, that's why I am trying to get some help with this :)
Thanks, Floridalma!
Not sure how technical I want to get at this stage, but will definitely look into these plugins more and will be following your progress so I can come back and pick your brains (if you don't mind) :D
C
It searches for features that you can improve with your site. It detect issues that are affecting your site's loading speed. It is a very useful tool, and will definitely help you out in the long run..
That has just opened up a whole new can of worms lol. I wish I could help, but now I'm confused.
That's alright, I think you might have to fix these issues yourself as well because your site may not be fully optimized. Site loading speed among many other things also factor or come into play when it comes to having unique visitors...
Sorry Florida, He just said you opened a new can of worms, I was jokingly saying see what you did Florida. I'm sorry! :)))

I recently purchased a theme and with it came the ability to photoshop documents, however, I don't really know how to add them to my site? Does anyone know how to do this at all? I
Hi! Floridajf I tried to leave you a message. But it would not work.
It was about a niche. My friend a niche is anything in general.
Unless there is some new unheard of product category that it
is in. What makes it stronger is when you break it down into
a sub category.
Example women's shoes could be women's tennis shoes.
Or even women's basketball shoes, Or shoes from Germany.
Food is the perfect niche. Because every living thing on this
planet depends on it. You can expect for people, pets and plants
to want food more than anything else on a daily basis.
Some food areas are really not too competitive. I have done
a little research. And when you use Jaxxy the numbers
really become much smaller. But food as a whole attached to all
of it's categories is a terrible niche. This is only my opinion.
And I hope it helps you and others. I value the opinions
of others. But I have my own way seeing things. And
sometimes it works for me. We all have to dig deep into
what we are looking at for it's total clarity.
I hope you are not mad at me because I said this. Have a nice
one. Keep up the good work. And I hope my business and
your's blossom beyond our greatest expectations.
No actually, thanks for sharing your own take, I think that it was really helpful. Can't believe that I did not think about this part myself, and you right Jaaxy is a great tool for niche research. Not offended at all, would really appreciate if you left detailed comments on my blogs, it would really help out as an individual. Good luck to you as well :)
hello Floidjf
you have to upload your pic in PNG or jpeg or format html on your pc
and insert after on your site. You see my site : http://basket-shoes.com. I m at beginning
Hi, here's my ten cents worth...
Photoshop files (.psd) are sometimes including with a theme as an aid to create new visual content for a theme. Both using Photoshop, and then exporting this visual content is not something that the faint hearted or uninitiated wants to play around with.
As an alternative, log into the dashboard of your theme, and under Appearance there should be an option to 'Customise' your theme i.e. play with colour, fonts, layout etc.
This will allow you to safely apply some of your own creativity to your site with the minimum of stress.... as opposed to playing around with the .psd theme file.
Hope that helps.
I actually know how to photoshop quite a bit, the problem is that the theme that I purchased came with photoshop documentation that I can use for my theme, but I just don't know whether I need to unzip it by extracting the files or how to implement them into my theme. Any idea on how to do this?
Google this...
'using a photoshop template with wordpress'
It will give you some background on the process. I'd stay clear of third party applications claiming to be able to produce a theme from photoshop.
I had a little play with this process, but quickly gave it away in favour of fully customisable themes.

Good luck.
Sure thing.
A favour in return... if my comments have helped you out, please 'like' them (it helps my WA Ranking) ;-)
How do you mean?
Photoshop is a graphics program. Not integrated with WordPress at all.
Your theme might have Psd files included . ( Photoshop format) That you can edit, in order to customise the look of the theme.
You'd need Photoshop to do this. Or, for a good free alternative, use Gimp.
Yes, it has a PSD file included, and yes that is my question, how do I use it or implement it. Also, I would like to add that I really love your comments they are brief but at the same time usually articulate/easy to comprehend :)
Because you have a paid theme you should be able to get support from the theme's creators. I thinks that should be your first port of call. ~Marion

I love grammarly because it also checks sentence structure and plagiarism.
