Today is the end of Monday here downunder and I have had a fantastic day!

I think it may have to do with the fact that this morning after having a great sleep that I decided I was going to have a fantastic day - well at least within what I have control over.

Do you dread Mondays?

Do begin feeling this way on Sundays?

Do You Dread the alarm going off on Monday?

Many years ago I dreaded Monday mornings. In fact I spent a great deal of my Sunday feeling down about the anticipation of the working week. Do you think I was enjoying my job at the time? I felt trapped, I was not happy in what I did and I did not understand the power of practicing daily gratitude and affirmations to change my mood and mindset. Many years later I discovered how important positive self talk and acknowledging what you do have regularly is.

What can you do to Motivate yourself on a Monday?

Here I share with you my current morning routine; as an example. Not to say this is the right way and what you have to do but to share that this is working for me to assist you to take elements that resonate with you and to review what your morning routine is.

  1. Get enough sleep. It starts the night before. Take a moment before sleep to plan what your next day routine will be. This is incredibly powerful. Have a regular wind down routine to help you sleep well. This might look like, having a hot shower, a hot drink, a relaxing activity away from technology such as reading a book, yoga, writing in a journal or a short mediation.
  2. Have a regular morning routine to get you started for the day. My morning routine is: to make myself a small pot of Chai Tea; practice a short morning meditation (between 10 - 15 mins) while I write in my journal my intention for the day, an affirmation for the day and what I am grateful for.
  3. I refer to my planned outline of my day from the night before
  4. Have a short stretch usually about 15 minutes of yoga and
  5. Repeat my chosen affirmation for the day regularly. A favourite affimation of mine is 'I am Enough'. You are enough. So say to yourself now 3 times in a row 'I am enough' how do you feel now?

This is my current morning routine. It shifts and evolves according to what my needs and commitments are. This is what works for me. I generally get up between 5 and 6am on week days so most of the above happens before the household is awake.

Here is a training I created on Daily Habits check it out if you'd like to develop your daily routine more.

However we are all different therefore if you LOVE Mondays:

My Monday motivation is to give thanks for another day in the land of the living. Then get on WA. to see how my status is going and help around the community. Writing posts for my website and continued training don't always get done fast enough for me because of other obligations but I'm still moving.

Awesome sounds fabulous always great to begin with giving thanks, it so boosts me in the mornings too

Good Post. My Monday motivation is my meditation, scripture and prayer before I do anything else.
Jerry

Nice one Jerry, it is all so important. Expressing gratitude is my form of prayer

Well done fleur. Thanks for sharing

Thanks my pleasure!

Lovely post. It's just noon here, so this has already helped my Monday. Actually, though, I love Mondays and every other day. I love being alive! But, today, you, my friend, have motivated me.
All the best,
Wendi :)

I'm delighted to hear Wendi! I had had such a great day due to my preparations for the day and I thought it would be remiss of me to keep to myself. Thanks for your feedback this is what it is all about!

Great tips!

Thanks Linda!

Yoga plays a huge role in our lives. Helps with WA and everything else. Makes Monday's as lovely a day as any other. Also, when you realize you are working for yourself and not someone else, that is a feeling of empowerment.
Love your attitude, Fleur. A routine is very important.
Happy Monday!

Happy Monday to you both! Yes, positive routines taking us a step closer to where we want to be each day is so very important. The cumulative effect of regular action pays huge dividends over time :)

Do Friday's go on top down under?

Fridays is definitely a good day!

Mondays are no different to any other day of the week to me, my job is the internet, so if I do not want to work I do not have too, mind you I do not get paid if I do not work, thinking of which I do not anyway at the moment. lol

Yes, something to work towards Stuart for many of us all. Keep on keeping on but enjoy your down time too!

Sure will.

Very nice post! Good point to remember when starting a new day. I am pretty much the same; over the years I have developed a plan to reflect on my days activities (what went right/wrong) and plan for new activities for the next day. Best Regards, George

Nice George, it is underestimated how much this increases productivity and focus for the following day.

Monday's used to be the pits, I can relate, The thing that motivates and something that is worth sharing, is that the online world kind of operates to its own " tick tock ".
Operating online we share across many time zones, one day becomes the same so Mondays melt into Tuesdays or could it be a Sunday, weekends kind of morph as well.

So Monday is a fun day,

Yes agreed on a benefit of an online, global community, there is always someone on here. I love that I have been wanting to write a Monday Motivation post all day and although I wrote it at 5 pm ish here in Western Australia it still has many hours relevance due to the time differences - nice!
