Tip 101 how to correct an incorrect affiliate link with alt error
How to correct an incorrect affiliate link with alt error
When adding an HTML code in widgets, some times the link is incomplete or incorrect.
The most coming error is a failing alt description for the used image.
How do you know that?
Let us take an example.
In this example we take an affiliate banner code as provided by Jaaxy. When pasting and saving in the widget, we get an orange exclamation mark. Orange means not deadly serious, just not OK. Let us have a closer look at the warning
(1) The orange exclamation mark tells the code is incomplete or erroneous
(2) Clicking on it reveals an error with the alt attribute of the image
How can we correct this?
Very simple by adding the alt code, this is, the description of the image. When corrected it looks like this:
(3) add the alt code. That is : alt=" ". Your description comes in between the "".
Attention: Make sure to have a space before and after your alt code
(4) save.
Problem solved and google will no longer report this one either.
