Seeking a job

Seeking a job is a life necessity to survive, unless you depend on the work of other people or can live from the fruits of your own work. For some of us it is easy done. For others a daily struggle.

If you want to build a website, seek a job:

  • Not far from home
  • Not too consuming and leaving you some free time if you want to work on your websites
  • Giving you enough financial liberty to do some extra activities, like paying a premium membership
  • Not to tiring and exhausting

Having a job

Having a job needs to be fulfilling to avoid burn out and demotivating. Many jobs are consuming without any reward.... leading to depression and low self-esteem. It needs a great power of character to overcome those enslaving situations...

If you have a job and want to engage in affiliate marketing be careful:

  • do not give up your job before your website provides you with a better income
  • Know that building a website takes time to build
  • Learning is a process and comes before earning
  • Concentrate on ONE website
  • Try to relax in between

Keeping a job

This is essential to build up your pension and some savings for your older days.

  • Remember the saying: 'teeth and no bread, bread and no teeth'.
  • Create added value whilst you are young. Time flies and does not come back
  • Having a satisfying job is important , keeping it is important too
  • Improve in your own work and domain. Learn. Make a difference.

And do the web building 'en plus'. Test, if this really suites you.... and take time to do that.

Other suggestions?

Good post, Fleeky.
We have always had our own businesses so we are able to motivate ourselves to work. But we have never had an online business which has a lot more distractions.
We have to create an income because we do not have enough money for retirement. We are so grateful to find WA because we also simply do not have the energy we used to have and it would be very difficult to go back to physical jobs. Our jobs in the past were very, very hard physically.
We are so much enjoying what we are learning here, so this helps us stay focused.
Thank you for your post and we dance with you on the journey...barefoot!

Hi my Fleeky friend!
Life changes for us in many ways.
I am disabled but still work a part time job (that I don’t enjoy) so as soon as my online business reaches the level of income as my part time job I will be able to quit!
No matter how long it takes I will make it happen.
I am having so much fun here at WA and learning more than I ever imagined.

This is a thought provoking post, Fleeky.

As adults, we all know that a source of income is needed to survive.

Bills have to paid.

The question that comes to mind with affiliate marketing is as you suggested, is it the right fit?

I remember about 50 years ago borrowing a dress from my sister. It was too big.

So, I tucked it to fit my once upon a time gorgeous shape. I was the belle of the ball.

The point is for that situation, too big is a fit with alterations.

Coming to affiliate marketing, it is a big thing that is very overwhelming for me.

But, my plan is to tailor the package down to suit my capabilities and needs.

Keep the faith.

Your friend,

Maxine

That is the spirit Maxine...

thank you for sharing a beautiful allegory we can all relate too
My ball was with too big shoes...

Hi Fleeky,
I’ve been self employed and employed and they both take discipline and effort.

But to be self employed takes that extra determination and ability to push yourself that little bit more. No sick days, holidays getting paid for by your employer and you need to work the hours that your business needs.

So unless you’re dedicated and have belief in what you’re doing as your own boss then you should be working for someone else.

Peter

Yes Peter
Dedication is the right wOrd indeed... eats your time...

Hi my friend Fleeky
I have been self-employed for my working life and discipline and determination are strong on a list.
I agree with you fleeky and this is a good post :)

No job more or less for the last 18 years, but have some hobbies that bring enough income to live from and hopefully next year also from my website extra income.

If hobby becomes wOrk it becomes successfull.
Thank you for sharing Tommy
