How to punish

Now, this sounds weird, doesn't it?
Let me rephrase.

How to coop with negative and unwanted behavior?

For the teachers and parents amongst us, this is a burning question

Negative and unwanted behavior can be disturbing, especially in a classroom.
And most of us will react emotionally, meaning too hard or in some cases too soft!

What is my point?

Correction is an art.

Some tip

Graduate and seek why.

Most of the time it is a signal that has nothing to do with you!
Out of frustration, anger, even jealousy or psychopathic disturbance.

Example

Looking at your student, without words and interrupting your course for a while.
If it keeps going on, add a word to it.
If it does not help, take action (kindly sit on that desk, have some sleep, we will talk after the lesson)

Conclusion

This is not exhaustive, I know.

Can you add to that?

Look at the picture, you kid has taken some wires out of your car...
happy as a duke... and ruined it.
What now?

Words are so important. I have seen children flinch at harsh words. What a worse is when those same children no longer flinch at the screeching, the swear words and the negative words thrown their way. They become immune to the violence of those words and in turn will repeat the cycle to their own or other children.

Yes...

A child given respect
Comes to respect

So true

Well I would probably think this guy is definitely born to be a mechanic of some kind, Lol :), but I would probably not say that.

I would probably say something like
Great! Now we have to use our feet to get around unless you find a smart way to put it back in and get it to work again.

Hahaha
I bet it will work
😂

Hi Fleeky

When my daughter was a teenager testing all the boundaries, humour really helped me.

She didn't always appreciate it when I smiled or burst out laughing during a heated exchange. She knew what I was thinking ... "I can't wait for you to be a mother". This thought helped me find my sense of humour and also defused many a tense situation. 😊

Great to see ya!

Blessings as always
Louise

Lol

Yes... better laugh

Hi Fleeky,
So what, taking a kid to a mechanics course, maybe that's his future occupation.
It's a little research.

Greetings,
Slavka 😉

Lol

YES...
See the genius indeed

🤩🥰

Fleeky, I have been a teacher for 24 years and learning how to correctly engage with students in discussion regarding their behavior is truly an artform. The secret to success is this: Relationship! Build a trusting, respectful mutual relationship with anyone, and you will be amazed at how our behavior towards one another changes :)

Hi Dale!

So true...
Start is always hardest

Thanks for adding
