How to become a leader?

Leadership has many levels. It grows from potential to full realization. And can become iconic like Walt Disney or Steve Jobs .

How to become a leader in your own field?

According to John C Maxwell, there are five levels:

It starts with :

  • Your skills and capacity to learn
  • Your relations and the way they empower and promote you
  • Your realizations and engagement
  • Your empathy and values
  • Your example and inspiration

You can not skip a level, since each has its importance and in that order. See for yourself where you are and where you are stuck. And it applies to all parts of your life. Including WA.

Let us take an example.

In a population only a few stand out with that specific skills. Without the help of others they can not grow, nor realize their own. If they do, soon they will be trapped by their lack of empathy and values. Showing off as they say. Looking at the life of great leaders, there is always a point of return. The show off, the fake has to go to become real. Values and empathy take over, soon to be followed by others and becoming an inspiration for many.

It is true in business, in show buzz, in politics...

  • You can not influence people if you are not excelling in what you do
  • You can not lead people if you do not love people
  • You can not motivate people by taking from them
  • You can not inspire them if you do not shine
  • Leadership is more than authority

    The message?

Know your level and build up. Attract new winners and leaders. Become a better leader. Unleash your leadership for better mankind. Prioritize your responsibility... Invest in those who excel. Build teams... shift responsibilities. Grow opportunities... understand integrity and service... and lead others to success.

And this goes for your online business as well.

There is no share without care...

    What a great list!
    It will definitely help me.
Thank you for this great post.

    Thank you Ingrid

Your 'hierarchy of leadership levels' is quite interesting and looks useful at first glance. Is this your idea and/or is there some professional literature on this subject you would care to recommend?

    Thanks, Marc.

    Hi Marc

This is indeed a resume of many lectures .
And inspired by some great leaders in the field.

One author that stands out on the subject is John C Maxwell.
A must read for those who want to deepen the subject.
I have added it to the blog.

    Thank you for asking

That's great, I'll check out his stuff and see where it goes. Much appreciated! Marc

    You will LOVE it

    Ps
    He loves Pareto too

aha! The Pareto principle is so true and somewhat scary if you think about the load the top 10-20% need to carry.... !

    Ha!
I prefer the gauss principle of 5 % which is more accurate...
    🤪

You have given us a very good list of skills we need to develop. If we can follow your list successfully, I am sure it will result in growth. Your "can not" list is good as well. Thanks, Fleeky.

Good post. I'm not a leader here and I know it. Later I intend to be but for now I am focusing on going through all the lessons while working on my websites and books.

Most of us... are followers indeed...

    Great post Fleeky!

    Thank you

Very enlightening post. I have been in many situations where the effective leader of the group was not the same person as the official leader. The reason that was the case was, the effective leader had gone through the phases you have shared.

Leaders need followers. Everyone can be a leader. If they want to. And willing to pay their dues.

    All the best.

    Edwin

    Hi Edwin,

    Yes...
a title does not make us a leader, nor money, nor ownership...
it takes time to grow our best self indeed...

    Succinctly put and very true.

    Hey hey...
    Up and going

So true, you can not be a leader if you are not an example

    Morning Nadia...
That is indeed the end of the story
    🥰
