Now, that is an expression that we hear a lot don't we?
But what does it mean?
It means going out into a worldwide audience.
An audience with different cultures, habits and perceptions.
Consequences?
If you want to reach a local audience, it does not matter.
If you want to reach a global audience, it does.
An example
The use of images and their cultural perception is different around the world.
It is not neutral.
Just to name a few:
- Using an image can be seen as idolatrous, iconic or offending.
- Covering your head is a sign of respect to Most High in many countries. Whereas in other parts of the world it is seen as a lack of openness.
- Exposing your life is perceived as bluff in many parts of the world
- And Privacy is becoming an issue in many countries also
- The list is long...
What is my point?
Be careful in the use of your images when going viral. You are not just talking to your neighbor, you are talking to the whole world.
And same goes with language, symbols and casual talk.

Indeed, we have to be mindful of what we put out in terms of
words, imagery and video. What is okay to someone is offensive to another. We have to take everyone feelings, cultures and religions into consideration when we communicate using any medium. Thanks for sharing!

Indeed, people are easy to judge pictures words thoughts and feelings. It can startle to be authentic. Some will quickly conform. Others dredge along, unknowing and or uncaring of attention they get or how it is perceived. If I dressed up like Miss America every day people might think I am crazy. There is another stigma on craziness. I love your bullets and perplexing thoughts. Fleeky, you are an author of genius.

On the other hand i remember the dress codes of my youth.
Perhaps we need to come back to them
Like driving licences, stick to the rules?
Nowadays dressing too often becomes
provocative or manupulative or revendicative ...
too much or not enough...

So true. We always need to be sensitive to others’ perceptions which can really vary from culture to culture.
I hear you and agree but what I have tolerate Arab culture when his not tolerate mine culture.It doesn't work like thid in the world.They want to be on the top of this world.I don't see how can they like others, it's all abuot them,it doesn't apply to all.Some of them are educated and smart and some of them still live on the dark side.I like to see friendship first and respect, for others cultures too.I follow teaching of Christ not Muslim religion.It's never going to be the same.How they dress those poor woman dressing so heavy clothes on hot sunny day.I just feel pitty for the woman they like slaves for their husbands Very sad indeed to see.And if I compare with India culture nothing to compare at all.They have beautiful music and beautiful colorful clothes.I do enjoy their culture and music.And what dresses woman wearing beautiful designs blue,pink,yellow green sari.I just love how woman looks gorgeous.And we have respect for each other cultures yes.
