My ophthalmologist told me to get up and look at things further away than the 18" distance to my monitor, and do that about every hour. Regularly.
Do I do it? Not regularly.

10-10-10 rule

Every 10 minute, look away for 10 seconds about 10meter

Taking short breaks helps prevent CVS is what I've found. It's not always easy though.

Yep... on your tablets or phones you can sWitch off blue light too...
