Help!
I had updated my account with a new credit card to make my payment. Unknown to me, until too late.. The credit card rejected the payment because they didn't recognize

You are so true. Most of the time you do get more things resolved when you don't loose your cool, but some times that is just what it takes. Sorry you had so much trouble.
chees,
william

Thank you, William..
My husband is always the one that loses it, but he always gets things done that way. I always felt it was better to treat people with respect. (sigh) Maybe those days are gone.
Kathi

So true :)

I suggest you contact Carson.

Oooh, good question. Im sure it will get worked out.

Good to know answers

I think you should speak with support and also your bank

Contact Kyle. He will help you. I had the same issue last year. I did not realize my credit card's date expired:)

Send him an urgent PM. While you are waiting for his answer I would suggest you contact support as well.

Thank you, Rika for your response. I am in contact with Kyle.. but I'm not sure if my message is getting through. Private message box is in red..

Send me a screenshot so that I can see what you mean about "Private message box is in red"

It was red because I had unanswered messages.. lol
Still have the same issue though.. Would I talk to tech support? If not, where do I find any other support?
I really don't like to bother Kyle or Carson with something I can fix myself..
Kathi

It does not seem like you will be able to fix this yourself. I suggest contact tech support and see what they say.

When is your subscription due? If your payment does not go through, there will be a red warning message at the top of your screen. You will also get an e-mail from Kyle to inform you of this.

They normally give you a couple of days to sort out the issue:) But you need to get it looked at anyway:)

Good morning WA.. I have a quick question..

When writing or reading the text on your website.. do you prefer bold or light grey?

And if going to a site, does bold

I like the bold, Easier and noticeable :)

Oyz,
Thank you for your response.. I made the choice to use black type on white background.. I was having an issue reading the light grey (for health reasons) but the black is easier to read..
Kathi

Great topic and discussion

Thank you all for your answers.. I decided to use black on white.. and only use bold for emphasis.
It sure does make things easier to read then the light grey!
Kathi

Use black on white. Nothing else. Why make it difficult for people to read your site by using grey?

Bold words if they're really needed for emphasis or as sub headings.

Use white on black if you're running a porn site or some selling some scammy product.

Hi Imc,
Thank you for your response.. yes.. it is easier to read.:)
Kathi

I prefer the dark and bold type, its easier to read and makes your page stand out.

Lori, I was using bold on mine, but someone told me it was harder to read.. That is why I asked the question.
Kathi

We all have our different opinions, go with what you like.

I prefer bold, easier to read, for me. They gray is too light.

Albert,
Thank you for your answer.. a reviewer told me to not use bold.
Kathi

Hey Kathi,

If a website I was visiting had all bold text I would not stop to read anything, and would assume the site is mismanaged. Newspapers, magazines and books never bold all text, sooooo why use all bold text on a website?

Thank you, Triblu..
Yeah.. I changed mine to black on white.. looks better!
Kathi

I prefer a light grey text, I would only use a bold text when I need to emphasize something. If going to a site and I see a post with bold text it doesn't affect whether I like it or not based on the type of text used.

Hi Isaac,
Thank you for your response! I was just at another website that teaches "how to get traffic". They suggest using black text on white background..
Just curious what others thought.

Hi everyone,

Just a quick question.. Is there any training.. or does anyone know, if or how I could add forums to my sites?

Hey Kathi,

Personally, I would have a sub-domain created in which I would install a forum. Then, if it doesn't "fly" you simply remove the sub-domain. If your site is hosted here, you can ask support to create a sub-domain for which ever domain you want it installed on.

Here are some tutorials:

http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-add-a-forum-in-wordpress-with-bbpress/

https://youtu.be/GsU18dWFcD8

If these don't offer you the information you need, you can always Google search, say, "how to install a forum on wordpress" (without the quotation marks, of course) and read through the many posts sharing information on this topic.

Hope this helps you.

Hi Triblu,
Thank you for your response.. After I posted this question, I discovered bbpress in the plugin sections of my website. It sounds easy to configure.. but I'm not a great programmer, lol..
Have you use the plugin?

No Kathi, I have not. Once upon a time I thought about installing a forum but after searching the internet for other's take on that idea, well, I decided that a forum was not for me.

Triblu, Thanks for your repley. I'll do alittle more research then.

How about creating a facebook group for the site - how would that compare to the forum?

That is a WAY better idea Mary!

:D Thanks - I've just been trying to get my head around facebook this past week, I must be learning something then :)

Hmmm..I hadn't thought of that. I could create a page for the users to put suggestions and stuff on. I just didn't want Google to rate my site lower because it was off site.

Facebook was just something I use to keep in touch with family and close friends. I do every once in a while post pages public for people to read. So I could actually create a different site for my website?

A fan page, yes Kathi ... think that's a LOT safer idea for you than a forum ... from my researching this topic anyway.

Thank you Triblu, You hot of help..:)

Thank you for all your help with this question, Moz! :)

Hey everyone, I just gave a quick question.. Over night I received about 10 new users on my website.
My question is.. can I set up a welcome email that goes out to a new us

Yes this tutorial will show you how But if you're getting "new users" without doing all this then they are most likely bots not real humans. Check your Settings > General and take the tick out of the box "Anyone can register".

Hi Marion,
Thank you for your quick response.. Yes over night I received about 10 new users. now I did post to google and facebook yesterday. I'll try these two things and see what happens. Is there anyway to know whether the user is a bot or real person?
