Why Calmness Is Important

Are you a calm person? Now, there's a quality I have to work on. At times I tend to be very excitable, so must work to return my mind to a calm and serene state. When I am calm, I function much more efficiently. Can you see why calmness is important?

When you are calm, you have learned how to govern yourself and you know how to adapt yourself to others. The more tranquil you can become, the greater will be your success, influence, and power for good.

When you work to develop self-control, you will find that people will be happy to deal with you. When you can remain calm, it does not matter what storms life might bring your way, as you will be tranquil. Your life will be in balance.

Have you mastered serenity? If you lead a serene life, you will exhibit a poise of character that is a last lesson of culture. Your life is yours to build out as you wish. You must take control of yourselves. As you do, you will see your success increase.

Think of the people you know who are lacking in self-control. Explosive tempers can destroy all that is sweet and beautiful. Allowing these temper tantrums to develop can ruin your life and mar your happiness.

It may take long and patient work to learn and master self-control. Calmness does not happen overnight. If you are having difficulty achieving self-control, you might try some basic meditation to bring your mind to a peaceful place. Whatever it takes, master self-control.

If you are struggling with bad energy and suppressing it, you will see it come out as bad performance. Write down the negative thoughts that are upsetting you, and then burn the paper. When our minds become involved with this bad energy, it takes our minds off what we should be doing.

Calmness is one of the rarest qualities in human life. Calmness gives you poise and helps you get in harmony with yourself. When you are calm, you have a singleness of purpose. You are self-reliant and self-controlled. Calmness will ready you for any crisis.

Don't be a fault-finder. This person is not calm. They accept life as being like a rudderless ship. They have no compass or chart and no destination in mind. They have no goal or plan.

Instead, be the calm skipper who has his course and port clearly marked. He is forever prepared for whatever danger lies in his path. He realizes that he needs to keep a clear mind and cool head and do the best he can each day.

With calmness, you will not get diverted from your course, but will keep heading for the harbor.

Thanks for this great lesson in calmness Fran!

Most of the time I can be calm with little or no effort. When I come across people in customer service who do anything but provide the "service" part I find it very hard to stay calm. I have to remind myself that not everyone who is in customer service is right for that job. There is no point in trying to change them.

Other than that, I am oblivious to the distractions that go on around me. For example, I can fall asleep under virtually any conditions at the drop of a hat lol. I think of that as a sign of being serene.

All the best to you Fran.

Edwin

Yes, I must admit Customer Service people can be very hard on my serenity. Sounds like you are doing well, though...I used to be able to fall asleep anywhere but not any more.

Still waters run deep, springs to mind after reading your post. There are many things we can do to enhance a feeling of tranquility. Commonly overlooked is diet. Without going into a long list, when I investigated, it turned out to be most of the foods I really enjoyed. Always the way.

That would be a great thing to blog about...tell us more on here.

I'll get on it.

Thanks. I spent many years working with many tools to achieve calmness. It really is the place to be. I can do so much more and so efficiently.

You are very wise to have done that work...I am better than I was in my younger days, but still trip up now and then.

*** c - a - l - m ..... yes, calm ... it works! .... ***

Cool as cucumbers -- that's us.

...and c-l-a-m works, too! ... ⭐️😊⭐️ ... :)

Fran, doggone it, you just keep getting gooder and gooder! I'm trying to calm down in retirement. Dealing with 100 sales people didn't bring out the best in me.
Great post
Joe

Ooh, I can imagine. Dealing with 100 anyones can be stressful. So now we can work on that calmness.

Let’s do it.
Joe

Thanks Fran, for this inspirational post.
Throughout my life I've always been easily knocked off center, as out-of-balance as a runaway space ship. Many years of meditation and work upon this aspect of myself has produced the calm, even-keeled lady you know today. :p

Be always thoughtful and considerate of others, and you can get where you are going with grace and style.

Yelling and fretting gets one Nothing.

Working with network marketing companies taught me a level of calmness and balance I had previously lacked...(while raising my herd of six kids, my home was somewhat of a madhouse more often than not! lol)

But when working on business, to put aside feelings of anxiety and self doubt, my mantra became, Stand Tall, and Walk in Your Power.

Still chantin' the mantra when I need that extra boost to see me through any difficult situation.
:D

Good mantra...and so true that life can hand us a plate of squirmy stuff that does anything but promote calmness. Nonetheless, we can learn...I still work on it too.

Hey Fran,

There is a superior peace that guards you. Are you familiar with it?

How've you b4een my dear friend?

I am heading almost at the harbor. :-))

All the best,
Maxine

So good to hear from you.

That superior peace sometimes helps, and at times it has eluded me. Better these older years, though...perhaps I have learned some things.

I have been fine. Hope you are doing well. How are the eyes doing?

Really good to see you back on here.

Love to find joy in everything I do. Including mundane tasks.

Good article

What an excellent attitude that is! If you can hold on to joy, you are well-up on the road to calmness.

Calmness is the balance mind stage and has cleaared destination so always reach the destine

Yes, I agree -- calmness brings balance and a clear view of the destination.

Mastering Calm & Serenity has been a goal of mine for many years, and while I am making progress, I can honestly say...
more meditation is needed ;)

I'm with you on that one. I, too, am making progress, but haven't worked through all the kinks yet.
