What Is The Value Of Time?
I see some of my compadres writing blogs to say they are curtailing the time they spend answering emails because they don't have enough time to keep up with all those messages and also do the necessary work on their websites.
Believe me, I understand. I've been trying to do the same thing, but it is hard to do. Short of turning off my emails, I don't know any good way to cut back. I keep seeing messages I want to read.
Therefore, I'm restraining myself -- I just can't keep up, otherwise.
Another factor to consider is how much content you have published. To gain regular followers, you have to publish regularly with good content and you have to have enough on your site already to hold your visitor's interest and make them want to come back.
My point in all this: I believe we need to be willing to keep going and to take as much time as it takes to catapult our blogs to success. We need to hunker down for the long haul, if that is what is necessary.
I read that it takes an average of five years to reach success with a brick and mortar business. In that respect, the internet can be a fast track, because by then we should have at least a following and a bit of money coming in.
The moral: Don't quit too soon. Leverage the knowledge you have gained to make things work. I really believe that in the long run you will be glad you did hang in there.

Hi Fran,
Time is of the essence. We only have 24 hours in each day. Since we do not have all the time we need in a day, we have to prioritize and only do the things that matter most to us. So if working on our websites consistently is one of our priorities, then we just have to do that activities consistently until we succeed at it.

I try to read a few of these posts everyday. Sometimes someone asks a question that I might need to know the answer to as well. If I didn't read it from a post email, then I wouldn't know how to do that particular task.

The biggest challenge can be how we invest, the 168 hours we are gifted, each week.
It seems to be the flavor of the last couple of days, quitting,
leaving etc.
How we manage our time is what counts.
We are here to learn and part of that process can be learning how to deal with an influx of emails, being able to read and understand the text and respond in a coherent fashion.
Like you say, Fran, give it enough time and most of all give yourself enough time to mature as a marketer.

WA is a really interesting platform and the community is very active. But you're right, if we want to get ahead in our business it's better to restrict ourselves for a while and move our blog forward. The first reason I chose WA was that I wanted to make a substantial income and it takes a lot of work as we all know here. So there's a moment where it's good to make choices to move forward.
