Three Inspirational Quotes To Share

When sorting through years of accumulated "stuff," I found some little pages on which I'd written quotes I liked. I still like them, and feel they are very useful for those of us building websites in WA. For this blog, here are three inspirational quotes I'd like to share.

The first one is by a favorite author of mine, Ralph Waldo Emerson. "Thought is the blossom; language the bud; action the fruit."

Does this quote speak to you? As we create a post, we can say that they all start with a thought; an idea born in our imagination.

When we recognize that the thought might take us in a new creative direction, we make the decision to fertilize that thought to see if we can make it grow.

From this thought blossom, we add verbal images to aid that flower in its growth, and our language creates a bud. We are developing our early thoughts into something more complete. It's a stage of growth that accompanies the language we use to describe it.

Now we can take that bud our language created and make it work for us. If we want the bud to transform into fruit, we have to act on our ideas. Language is a vehicle that can move us in the right direction.

Taking action is the final step. When we act on a goal that has budded and developed, we can then watch the fruit of our labors develop into success.

It takes those three steps: Think it; speak about it; act to give it birth in the world.

The next quote is from another of my favorites, Mark Twain: "Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great."

How true, how true! It's unfortunate, that when we are starting some new endeavor, or even continuing one we've been working on for some time, there are always naysayers.

Think of them as sowers of doubt, and avoid them at all cost. They are not walking in your shoes. Only you can face the challenge of your particular journey. They will try to distract you from your goals; they will be the first to tell you that it can't be done.

That reminds me of a card I received and liked so much I put it on a little easel in my office. It says, "Those who say it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it."

Don't let the small people get in your way. Don't let them stop you from your progress toward something you believe in. Move ahead -- leave them in your dust.

Here's the third one, from George Bernard Shaw: "The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can't find them, they make them."

If you truly want something, keep trying all the new ideas you develop that might lead you forward. There are often many roads that lead to the same destination, and you need to keep searching for the one that will work for you.

If your circumstances aren't bringing you the results you want, it might be time to change direction. Remember, also, the saying that "when one door closes, another will open." Believe in, and look for these newly opened entryways.

If you keep trying, you will find the right road -- and then you can attain whatever you set out to accomplish.

Good morning Fran, and thank you for those three inspirational quotes, they are speaking to me, yes!

I have been off my journey with WA and other programs, so at a standstill. The word is BLAH! where am I going, what i am not doing, and how to get back on track.

All your above notes are a wake up call to me, "Thought is the blossom; language the bud; action the fruit."

You have explained it so simple in moving forward, and stop letting the small people keep you back, I have encounter many of those, which causes me to not want to go forward, thinking they all are the same, it takes people to help one another and when; not even your closest family and friends not backing you, you just wanted to give up.

But you are SO right Fran...If you keep trying, you will find the right road -- and then you can attain whatever you set out to accomplish.

Thanks you for sharing,

Stay blessed.

Elizabeth

Glad the quotes inspired you. I hope you will find the right road and also those who believe in you. WA is a good place to start to find some of those. Many of us are ready to reinforce your positive beliefs about yourself. It's hard to avoid the naysayers when they are those close to you, but because of their negativity, it's best not to share what you are doing. Come to the community; there are many here who can help.

Thanks again Fran, I am doing just that.

Have a great weekend.

Elizabeth

Yes, yes and yes Fran.
3 great quotes.

I apologise... just one word of caution to Mark Twain... I believe that inside every 'small' person is a 'great' person trying to get out. If they find a way to change they can surprise us in positive ways.
The best way to help them change is to lead by example. (Sorry if that sounds arrogant... it is said with the best of intentions).
:-)

No, that's true. Finding the right person to follow is not always easy.

I love all three as an example to follow in our online work. Thank you very much Fran!

You are so welcome.

I really love your quotes Fran
I resonates with the first and third one.
Very inspiring and motivating.
Thank you for sharing

You are very welcome.

There is power in all 3 quotes Fran.
I particularly like the Mark Twain one because I think it’s one of the biggest problems new entrepreneurs face. Sometimes it’s with the best of intentions but there will always be people who can tell why something won’t work. Avoiding them is important for our own success.

Thanks
Dave

I agree. It is important not to let people's negative opinions tear us down.
