The Importance Of Being Committed

I just wrote a post for my WA website on the importance of being committed. When you commit, you dedicate yourself to something -- in this case, your WA business journey. Abraham Lincoln said it well: "Commitment is the transfer of promise to reality."

Commitment can have a time limit. You might say, "I will commit to this business for five years, and then will make a decision to stay or go." Or you might say, "I commit for the long term. I will never give up."

For me, at 81, the choice is easy. I have made a life-time commitment to my business, barring the unforeseen misfortunes that might force me to give up that commitment. Therefore, when my earthly journey is done, my son can sell my websites, and that becomes my legacy to him.

For some of you who are younger, a lifetime commitment might be a bit harder to make. You need to ask yourself, "Is this the path I want to follow for the rest of my life?" It is not a decision to make lightly.

So, perhaps for you younger folks, you might say, "I will commit to this business for five years for starters. During that time, I will do my best to grow my business and to establish my brand."

Then, at the end of five years, you can reassess. That much time will give you plenty of opportunity to learn what you need to know and to build a profitable online endeavor. You will then be much better equipped to decide if you are on the correct life path.

One reason why it is important to discover your "why" in life is to learn if your present journey is helping you fulfill your life goals -- your purpose. If so, that's a definite sign that you are on the right path.

Once you know that your journey is headed in the right direction, charge forward, full speed ahead. No need to fear commitment once you know for sure that you are headed in the right direction.

Commitment is important because it leads to action, and action will lead you to success. Once you reach the success stage, the decision to commit for a lifetime is much easier to make.

Another quote from my online post: "Commitment is the glue that binds you to your goals." So make a commitment, not to give up, but to move forward toward success.

When you start with a commitment for a certain time period or for a life-time, make your commitment with serious intent and treat it as a most important part of your life.

Immerse yourself in your business. Dive deep into the training and resources available to you, and navigate the shoals of doubt. Keep your faith in yourself and your business strong, and the tide of success will find you.

Go for it!

Hello Fran,
I always commit to everything I do from a young age. In my case I had to abandon entrepreneurships because the country does not accompany me. It is very painful but it is my truth.
I give you an example: I was unable to pay the annual membership in WA, because a new resolution in Argentina does not allow us to pay by card more than USD 200.
Logically I paid the monthly fee.
I am an admirer of yours, I think you have everything to reach the summit here in WA. You are in the best moment. One tip: Move your body.
Thank you very much for your great post! Take care :-)

Thanks. Your comments are appreciated. Your tip is right on: Move it or lose it. So important to me to get out of this chair now and then and move around.

You take care too, and happy holidays.

Hi Fran, you defined commitment in a unique way. The younger folks don't realize the advantage of time being on their side so as to make the most of it sooner rather than later. It's uncanny that us older folks know we have less time left that propels us to be super committed like glue. That's a great word you used.

I love your idea about building a valuable legacy for your son.

All the best to you.

Edwin

Thanks, Edwin. Yes, because my hourglass is no longer full, I have no trouble hanging on to that sense of urgency.

Yep, at least the boy should get some benefit from all this work!

Good afternoon my dear friend, I love the blog, I have indeed found my path that I have been searching for my entire life. I am committed as much as a person can be, with all of my heart Mind and Spirit. My dear sister may you have a wonderful weekend, and a most beautiful holiday season with lots of happiness and joy.

Yep, you strike me as one who will be around for a while..

Best wishes to you, too, for a great holiday.

Thanks

You are very welcome. Hope you are here for the long haul.
