Some Life-changing Attributes Of Service
We learn in Wealthy Affiliate that the best way to move ourselves forward on the path toward our goals is to reach out to others and help them on their journey.
This idea of helping others in order to help oneself is not anything new. The great teachers have been telling us this for years, and many of them say very similar things. Therefore, there must be some truth to the idea.
Here's an example -- This quote is from Kahlil Gibran:
"I slept and I dreamed that all life is all joy. I woke and I saw that life is all service. I served and I saw that service is joy."
It would be so good if we all tried to follow the idea of serving others. It is not always easy.It requires a commitment from us and it requires some humility and true caring about those who accompany us on our life journey.
If we look closely at those around us, we can often see easily a way in which we can help. WA gives us a good headstart through the messaging system. People ask questions of members that we can answer. When we read our WA emails, we can learn two things:
1) Ways in which our fellow WAers could use some help to surmount a hurdle and progress
2) Information we didn't know from a tutorial message that might be helpful to us on our own journey.
Wayne Dyer has put it well in the following quote:
"When you are able to shift your inner awareness to how you can serve others, and when you make this the central focus in your life, you will then be in a position to know true miracles in your progress toward prosperity."
These messages come from people who know what they are talking about. It would not hurt us to listen -- In fact, if we pay attention, we may learn some very valuable lessons that help others and ourselves as well.
The world is a wonderful, exciting place. If we let love into our lives, we enhance all of life's benefits. An essential part of love is sharing our feelings with our loved ones.
Sharing helps love to grow. What better reason to reach out to someone in order to help them? We gain as many dividends as those we help.
Brian Tracy tells us: "Love only grows by sharing. You can only receive more for yourself by giving it away to others."
Therefore, help yourself -- enrich your life. Follow the WA tenet that the best way to do so comes from lending another a hand on their journey. If you don't have that quality, learn to implement it. Show kindness to all you meet.
Sophocles said, "One who knows how to show and to accept kindness will be a friend better than any possession."

A great quote from Og Mandingo serves as a conclusion to this blog. Think about these words:
"Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness and understanding you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again."

In learned new subjects, I have found that discussions with others added by me teaching a principle to another is quite like a master teaching an apprentice and both will grow. The student by learning a new principle and the teacher with better understanding of that principle.
Yes, and the beauty is I always got a deeper understanding with being able to remember the solution longer, than if I had just read about it.

How great that you see things that way. Yes, it would be a better place. We can only be the start of a movement...it takes a majority to finish it.

Yes, listening is something many of us can work on -- I know I can.
Yes, all is well. Mocha is beautiful, and sweet most of the time. However, he can sometimes be a little devil-cat, so it's a good thing he is beautiful or I might wonder if it's worth it...only at times...most of the time, we're a love duo.
That's great to hear Fran. Cats are cats after all...they like to keep things interesting. But I'm sure you must enjoy his snuggly company. I can relate, as mine is a love bug too.
