My Greatest Cause for Thanks
Of course, I am thankful that the community gives such great advice and guidance, answering the multitude of questions that we all have. However, my thankfulness goes beyond that.
I'll hit my five-month anniversary two days after Thanksgiving. I've noticed an interesting thing that has happened to me, and I am sure other people notice something similar.
I follow after, or gather a following, and as I do so, I find I am getting to know certain members here fairly well. When I meet someone who has similar ideas, or whose answers are especially useful, there is a resonance that occurs, telling me that this person is someone I want to get to know better.
As a result, now, each new day when I come to WA, I look forward to meeing all those new friends and finding out what they are doing. Our interchanges fuel my day with energy. I am thankful and grateful for all these new and wonderful people in my life.
What really amazes me is that, of the group of people I am getting to know best, very few of them are from my country, the U.S. They are from all over the world!
Here I am, in a tiny, isolated community in Alaska and I am talking to people from many places far, far away. That to me is exciting and rewarding. It is nice to know, though these new friends are not close by, we are all in the same boat. It is a big vessel!
So thank you, WA, and may blessings come to all of you this holiday season, wherever you are. Thank you, too, for enriching my life and for accompanying me on this journey.
Whether you are in a place that celebrates this holiday or not, you will all be the special guests at my table, even if only in spirit.
My life is so much fuller with all of you as a part of it.

Yes, indeed! This really is a great community with so much to offer. I've noticed that when I get on the typical social media sites, I can only feel good about it for so long. About as long as it takes for me to catch up with the people I know personally, that I don't get to see very often. Beyond that, it can be a downer. But WA always leaves me in a good mood. Everyone here is charged up and positive, making it hard to feel any other way. The people and posts here always give me the boost that I need and they certainly are something to be grateful for this Thanksgiving. Great post and definitely something to think about!
