Lucinda The Literate Cat Is Concerned

Greetings, two-legged readers. This is Lucinda the literate cat returning to write for you once more. My first post was very well-received, so perhaps you won't mind another one.

After I wrote my post for you, my CCL (Cantankerous Cat Lady) wrote a post on a serious subject, and instead of being read by many of you, only a few of you looked at it. We believe there is a reason why my post was so popular and hers fell short.

In fact, CCL and I came to the same conclusion. Due to the threat of the coronavirus and the disruption to your lives, you are not the same happy-go-lucky creatures you were before the virus. You crave a chance to laugh far more than you want to deal with a serious subject.

CCL and I both want to encourage you -- Do not forget how to laugh!

It is especially important during these troubled times that you find humor wherever you can. Your laughter will bring comfort and healing. Watch funny movies; read jokes; tease each other. Do whatever it takes to laugh at something regularly -- at least once a day.

You two-leggeds take life so seriously in the first place. Your lives are complicated beyond a mere cat's comprehension. I guess it's just the way you are made.

It is different with us. We cats lead the simplest of lives, by choice. Our needs are not complex -- a warm place to sleep and a couple of good meals each day; a place where we can feel safe.

It's one of the perks we have received since we entered into a contract with the Egyptians to free their food supplies of rodents. Why, those folks even went beyond what was necessary, making us gods and goddesses, in thanks for saving them from starvation.

Nowadays, we don't need to be worshiped. All we want is a little respect. If you treat us well, we are pleased. If you don't, well, we may just move out and find another home. We have our limits.

You always rush around here and there. Don't you get worn out from all that activity? Personally, I think a long nap in the afternoon is just the thing. I have heard that in other places, Mexico, for example, you take what is called a siesta in the afternoon.

Now that's a great idea! It should become an international rule that everyone takes a siesta right after lunch.

We cats are not worriers. You two-leggeds have worrying down to an art form. Loosen up! Focus on the good things in your day, and if something stresses you too much, take a nap.

Take each day as it comes, but find things in each day to enjoy and appreciate. You might find that it makes the going easier.

To make yourself feel good and to bring you back to the present moment, pet your cat. Listen to his song -- his beautiful purr -- and let that sound lift your spirits. We cats are here to help, if you will let us.

Just remember -- laughter is an excellent medicine for you, just as our purr has a fine healing power for us. Don't let this time of trouble steal all your joy. You will get through it all, and much better if you laugh more.

Fran, I'm pawsing for a nap.
The catnip is the new fancy wedge shaped pillow, $91 the health insurance paid for it. It lifts my head so the mask from the Bi-PAP leaks less. Less leaks equates to better naps, and more quality sleep. Yes!

I sleep with a Bi-PAP, or a multiple air pressure, like C-PAP constant pressure, but fancier.

I use a heated tube with the water reservoir on the machine, because you don't want to get a dry mouth, or your gums may recede. Not good for 2 or 4 leggers.
(All my children are 4-leggers, Everyone's a rogue and beggar- My dog fam).
The respiratory tech "Cats" say the word is "Paradoxical" fancy word for they do not know why I stop breathing?
And I can't tell them because I was asleep, and don't remember...

ZZZ you later Fran Dearest! Me Ow!

Katherine cat enjoyed the post, it has almost inspired her to get out of my bed, which is warm and safe and adventure forth,

yawn, just thinking she said.

Good points Fran!

Thanks, Lucinda would agree.

It is true, that we are all caught up to what's happening right now. Laughter is indeed a good medicine.
Although I'm a dog person (my dog behaves like a cat), I envy cats.
It seems like they have their own world and free. They're like :
"If you like me, I like you too. But, if you don't, I don't either."

Thanks for sharing, Fran.

Yes, cats have their own way. If you establish a bond, they will be a bit more willing to try to please you, but they are not so anxious to do so as a dog. They are very interesting creatures, and I for one love them.

I had a cat named Lucinda. She ran off with Toonces the driving cat. He had a new Cadillac. Every woman knows crazy "bout an automobile.
She left me there standing with nothing but rubber heels

Well, that's a cat for you. She saw something she thought would be better than what she had, so she went for it. Hope she's happy.
