Lucinda Discusses Setting Up New Office Space

Greetings, Wealthy Affiliate members, from Lucinda the literate cat. A new member of my fan club requested that I write another blog for my WA two-legged friends. So, I will discuss all the changes happening at our house, as we are setting up new office space.

Actually, though this request came from Jeffrey Brown, I suspect it is actually from his resident cat, Tig-Tig. Since she can't write, she asked Jeff to forward her request. I'm glad to oblige, Tig-Tig. After all, we cats deserve to offer our opinions too.

It is especially important in this case, as we cats hate change. However, this is one change that is easy to accept, because it does not affect our house. After all, some things must stay the same. However, the attached garage will lose garage status and become the new office.

It is receiving a face change. Many things have been removed. Over by the window, the double bed frame is set up and ready for its new mattress. Right now, a double box springs and the single mattress are there, giving us a napping space until the new mattress arrives.

Already, this room is pleasant. Last night, my CCL (Cantankerous Cat Lady) sat out here and worked on a blog post. The wood fire burned happily, making the room toasty. CCL's machine that plays music shared some of the music she has had stored in a little chest for years.

She sat on the sofa to work, with a trunk in front for a table. This sofa is nice! We don't have one in the living room; just a couple of big chairs. Pogo snoozed on one side of her and I on the other while she worked -- very comfortable.

Pogo is a bit hesitant about the new room, but not me! I cruised right out here and made myself at home. Pogo cautiously comes in here now and then and checks it out, but any loud noise sends him running. He also disappears swiftly when CCL puts new wood on the fire.

So, what is the real value of having this new space? Of course, it gives CCL more room, and will allow her to turn the present office into a permanent guest room. Thus, if one or two of you comes to visit, there will be someplace for you to sleep.

CCL says she will be glad to have more room to store, sort, and work on her stuff. She has a card table in the office that is

piled with books and papers, and she says she can't find anything. I've tried to help her by pushing some of those things onto the floor, but she shows a great lack of appreciation for my efforts.

I can sense renewed energy in my CCL. She is so focused on this added space that she seems to be less stressed. Sometimes making a change can do that for you, she says. Her life is so full and so complicated, I can see that it's been a positive benefit.,

This change has helped us cats, too, because as she becomes more relaxed and less stressed, we sense the difference, and it helps us relax as well.

She says this new space will encourage her creativity, and I must agree that I think it will have that effect. She's already outlining new ideas to put in place once the room is done.

Tig-Tig, I hope you aren't too bored by this post. Remember your role in your two-legged's business. You must encourage him and be there if he needs your advice and support. Your soothing influence can help him remain calm and focused. We cats do have important ways in which we can enhance the lives of our two-leggeds.

HDH Leia Lab approves of your new office, Fran. Please tell Lucinda and Pogo to enjoy exploring their new space. HDHLL is timid and shy, sorta like Pogo when it come to new things, but once she accepts them, she makes them her own! She also says she LOVES the title you cats gave your cat mom (er, CCL).

So glad she approves. So do I. Glad she likes my title. It's easy to remember.

Very Nice Fran everybody will enjoy the new space in time. Great move.

Yes, I am enjoying it already.

This is such a cool story. Fran!
Enjoyed it immensely!
Thank you for sharing it.

Barbara

I will tell Lucinda you enjoyed it...lol...
She has written many things for my website; I think some of them are quite funny. Nice to have such a fine assistant!

Yes, I know how you feel about having such a studious assistant.
Wingman Chance is the very same way.

Gotta love it!

It's fun.

Lucinda, My 'two-legged' is still not home, so he doesn't know I am replying to you! I feel he should increase office space here too! I sometimes tire of the bed I am forced to lay on to help! I much prefer the chair that I am sitting in now!

Us cats must stick together! After all, we are the muses for much of our Humans' work!

We will 'speak' again soon, Lucinda!

Tig-Tig

Lucinda's answer:
Oh, yes, I understand about the bed. My CCL put a wooden chair in her office, in front of one side of the desk and next to her chair. Then we can both sit here at the computer. Of course, I often have to argue with Pogo over that chair, but we work things out.

Tig-Tig completely agrees! The Blog Dogs sometimes vie for attention!
