About Bears And Badges
First of all, I was notified a couple of days ago that I've received my four-year dedication badge. How does the time go by so fast? It certainly doesn't seem like I've been a member of WA for four years! I must like it, since time has flown and I'm still here, with no intention of leaving.
Secondly, it's bear season in our area. I walked yesterday and found a large pile of bear scat right in the middle of my driveway. Not surprising, as the bears seem to think the driveway was created just for their use to get from the woods out to the road. They never clean up after themselves, though.
Usually, they just walk through, and don't leave such presents behind. However, this seems to be an unusual year...this morning when I looked out the office window, I saw yet another large pile of bear droppings out there. The "deposit" was not there yesterday evening, so this guy came through sometime last night. I wonder if it's the same bear. Maybe he's eating something that moves through rather quickly???
'Tis the season. I expect to see more moose soon, too. Will try to get a picture next time. A big one came through about a week ago, and I watched him too long...he disappeared before I got the camera.
It's wonderful having the wildlife here, so long as they leave me alone!

That's awesome, Fran. Keep the camera at the ready, because we want some bear images. (Moose would be good too).

I hope you mean you and me, Fran not the bear and kangaroo. I know who'd come off second best.
Though in the right environment, I back a drop bear (see image) against almost anything.
They're clearly related to koalas, with the big difference being that koalas are real and drop bears aren't. They're a made-up predator used to scare tourists. If you see a group of tourists walking through the bush and looking fearfully up into the trees. you know they've been told the story about how the drop bears will drop out of the trees onto your shoulder and sink their fangs into your neck. It's just our twisted sense of humor.

Hi Fran...congrats on 4 years. The time sure does fly by here at WA! That's quite a story to learn about the bear moving through your place. Hope he leaves you alone and you're snug in your home. Should you ever capture an image, that would be incredible to see. Must be fascinating to see all that wildlife.
Take good care :-)
Susan
Had another chance to capture an image last night. Story to follow.
