A Visit From Lucinda, The Literate Cat

Hello, all. I've come to introduce myself. This is Lucinda, the literate cat, who helps Fran, my CCL (Cantankerous Cat Lady) to write posts for her website.

One of the Wealthy Affiliate people asked for my credentials, so I decided to write to you, and CCL gave her permission. Please keep my secret. As I have learned to read and write, I do not want this information to get to any schools of higher learning, as they would want to capture me and study me.

I won't go into the long story of how I learned these two-legged skills, as they are discussed on our website. Please ask CCL in a PM if you want to learn more.

I really wanted to write this post, as I keep hearing about "blog dogs." I just wanted to point out that anything a dog can do, a cat can do better.

Of course, I am a bit prejudiced. I know how those dogs are, though -- they will do anything to get some positive attention. We cats are not motivated by the desire to please -- we are more concerned with pointing out Truth, even if it is painful.

I have two regular website jobs: I write a column called "Letters to Lucinda: Cat Behavior Solutions," where I give advice to cats and two-leggeds to help them solve behavior problems.

I also write book reviews and an occasional opinion piece. After all, if books are about animals but written by two-leggeds, they sometimes do not understand the animal's point of view, so I try to straighten out these misunderstandings.

I do find it most commendable that so many of you two-leggeds are building websites. From my place in the world, I can see that this activity is very valuable. For one thing, when you write for your website, you are working at home. That means we have your company, if not your undivided attention.

For another thing, it keeps you out of trouble. You two-leggeds need to learn to schedule your days better, so you don't have to run all over the place using up energy. I believe you could often use a long nap, but you don't seem to understand the value of such a thing.

If you stay home more, you are more apt to continue your calm routine. That makes it easier for us to follow ours. This horrible coronavirus you keep talking about has created one great benefit -- you two-leggeds have had to stay home more.

I wish you all success with your website-building. By writing information that answers other two-leggeds' questions, you are helping those people.

If you are helping people, you add happiness and positivity to the world, and I think such additions are very good things. Do keep producing your posts and building for the betterment of the world.

I, for one, am proud to have a very small part in this adventure. I will do my best to shine a light in the corners of the cat world that you do not understand. I like to feel I am working for the good of all cats.

Thank you for reading this post. May your day CATapult you to success.

Very well done, Lucinda, not to bad--for a cat! Our master can heed some of your advice about rest, and not trying to do too much all at once, but us Blog Dogs disagree with you on one prominent point--WE are much better than cats! 🐶🐶

Dogs vs Cats or Cats vs Dogs. Let me get a dog and find out. My dog will contact your dog to learn how to write a post, lol.......

Okay, we can try it...

lol--Lucinda thought you would claim superiority. That remains to be seen...

I guess Cats won, because they can climb trees, so they can get a bigger fruit on top of a tree. But dogs are only able to get the low hanging fruits from the trees. So cats write posts with high competition key word. I am in this lesson now.

It does, indeed, Fran!🐶🐶

Hi Lucinda
A pleasure to make your acquaintance. After many decades of living with felines since early childhood, we are succumbing to pressure from a young two-legged member of the household to - wait for it - welcome a young canine into our home. I have no idea what to expect. Firstly I should clarify that the last of our felines went on to the litterboxes in the sky after suitably long sojourns with us so we will not have any feline-canine rivalry to deal with. However, you seem to be an expert in such matters so any advice you have would be most graciously received.
Good luck taking care of CCL and Pogo.
Best regards
Andy

Why don't you get a puppy and a kitten and let them grow up together? Then they will be used to each other and should get along quite well. Also, they would then both have company.
Lucinda

Hi Lucinda. Yes we thought of this and have been over it a number of times. It may still happen. The puppy has only just been born. My biggest worry is when we travel. With the cats we would always get friendly neighbors to feed them when we were away. The dog we are likely to take to my in-laws. If we have a cat and a dog then taking the dog somewhere and leaving the cat behind might be traumatic for both of them. More thought needed on this I think. Thanks for your words of feline wisdom.
Best regards
Andy

Lucinda, what a pleasure to meet you. You certainly are the studious one aren't you. You said you have a very small part in the adventure. I would counter that your role may be a wee bigger thank you think, and also, quite important. Say hello to CCL for me.

Your two-legged friend
Greg

Oh, you flatter me! Thanks for the nice words. I do hope my contributions to CCL's website are helpful. Well, she has not fired me yet, so I guess I'm doing okay. Thank you, two-legged!

Lucinda

Love it Fran, very good of you to let Lucinda take over sometimes.

Oh, yes, she gives me a much-needed break.

Hello Lucinda, you look like our Gizmo who just left one day and never returned. Maybe he missed his big brother Damian who's gone behind the rainbow bridge at the age of 15 and went looking for him.
Take care of your CCL and show up again.

Meow! Thank you for your response. I do my best to take care of my CCL, but she can be a pawful sometimes. In fact, it often takes all four paws to keep her in line.
