What was 1st thing you did today? Bet you answer wrong!
This is a gratitude post - pure and simple.
Our hearts beat, our blood courses through our veins, and we BREATHE. Every moment of every day. The first thing you did this morning when you woke up was breathe. You may or may not have had a conscious thought about it, you may have immediately made fists of your hands and bent your elbows and raised your arms above your head in a stretch, accompanied by a big yawn, but you took a breath, and then another, and then another.
We are all here because we have a passion in our belly for something. Whether that passion is crazy cat videos, outdoor adventures, video games, or arbitrage, it requires your breath to make it come to life in your online world.
The image attached is me, with my husband and was taken two years ago this week. It happened to win awards for best cover image in Canada (for community newspaper with distribution over 12,500). In it, my husband is struggling for each breath as he waited for his life saving double lung transplant. 2 years, and approximately 16,819,200 breaths later I am sitting in a beautiful sunny atrium at Toronto General Hospital, while he is having a bronchoscopy for his 2 year followup, and the gratitude that I am feeling is indescribeable.
How does this relate to my WA world? I see new people sign up here, as I did just over one week ago, full of excitement, passion and a desire to take the world by storm. Taking each day, one breath at a time and making each one count, is the first step to moving your life forward. I am in a unique position, as is my husband, to appreciate each breath, and never ever take for granted this incredible life that we have. With that fire in my belly, I move forward through my lessons, my practical applications, my conversations and my support, knowing that what I am working towards will only continue to enrich and enhance my life, and the lives of those that I touch.
