Google is not indexing my photos, Am I supposed to be doing something special to get them to do that? When I upload the picture I enter the title and alt text. Am I missing ano

Which SEO plugin are you using, AIO or Yoast?

I don't have any plug in just the all in one SEO - do I "need" yoast?

No AIO is fine. Go to General settings in AIO and scroll down to NoIndex settings, make sure you haven't got Posts Pages and Media checked. If there is a tick in any of them untick them and save settings. My only thought

OK Thank you I will look

When you enter the alt text, are you calling it what it is. Meaning if it is a pic of a blue house are you putting "blue house" into the description? I'm not a pro but I've heard of people using keywords as descriptions and it didn't work. Just a thought.

Hi so i would type something like
laptop-table-cup
then in alt text I would write Laptop Table Cup
I thought that's what was said in the training

I believe that is correct. Well hopefully some of the other responses will give you the answer.

The last few times I have tried to leave comments for others (on their websites) I keep getting a weird pop up that says

"you are submitting too quickly...please wait a

That situation happened several times, I refreshed, and then commented without a problem.

Yeah Sometimes it's working to refresh and sometimes it doesn't. I just keep trying

Uh... mi2

Oh Thank you everybody I was thinking it was just me, I had one that eventually went through but a couple others wouldn't even refresh the pages, I will keep trying, thank you all

I have had that happen but unfortunately, I had to move on to the next.

I've also had that happen on a website that was not hosted at WA. It's a glitch. When I refreshed the page I was able to leave a comment.

Marion....quick related question...can we leave comments on websites directly or do we have to go through SiteComments on rubix. Silly question...I think the aisle yes but just wanted to verify. Thanks
Debbie

Absolutely Debbie. There's even a Facebook page where some of us exchange comments on our websites on a 1 for 1 basis. Send me a private message if you'd like the link.

Thank you! I'm not on Facebook..yet...but I'll keep that in mind!

I've experienced this the past few days. But i was able to post the comment eventually. After I kept getting that message, I copied my comments, refreshed the page, and pasted my comments on the refreshed comment box.

I had to contact Site Support for the same thing. They got right back to me within 30 minutes. It took a little while to get it fixed, but by the next day, it was working fine.

Don

Yes the same problem, some weeks ago

I am wondering what is the best opt-in page (pop-up) plug in, I currently have no way to capture any information to create an email list, and also where is the best place to fi

I use the Sumo plug-in. You can create your own e-mail capture pop-up that works with getresponse.

I have heard of that, I will check that out also. Thank you for your help, Pam

Well, it looks like you already have all the normally used opt-in plugins so I'll answer your second issue: e-books.

When I have suitable traffic to my website, I plan on offering e-books based on my website. My thinking is that, if readers are interested enough in my content to sign up for a newsletter, they would probably like to see e-books based on my website.

What do you think?

Jim

Thank you for your answer, do you have a favorite place to get the e-books, do you use Clickbank, do they have free offers?

It seems that I wasn't quite clear, Pam.

I will author e-books myself based on my website content. For instance, since I have a gardening website, I could offer an e-book explaining how to grow certain vegetables that I already have covered on my website. Or, I could make an e-book that talks about gardening techniques that I have already covered on my website. I could generate an e-book of some of my reviews of gardening tools and equipment.

That's what I mean. I will have original e-books that came from me and my website.

Jim

Oh ok got it, thanks for that clarification, that does make perfect sense.

I use Benchmark Email. They have a free service up to 2000 contacts allowed and u get to design your own opt-in form to match your site.

Carl

Free is always good in my book, I will check that out, Thanks

I use MailChimp combined with Magic Action Box. It's not a pop-up but rather a predesigned opt-in form.

Oh nice, I'll check that out, Thanks

Hi

You can use Mailchimp for that, no fees for a small list.

Or is you want to pay for a plugging, I can advise optinmonster

https://optinmonster.com/

But in order to use it, you also need an autoresponder such as Mailchimp

Good luck
Stefano

Ok thanks, I do already have getresponse, I've had it for 4 months now but haven't used it, haven't learned how yet, I'll check out optinmonster also.
Thanks, Pam

I am looking to get one written cost around $40 to $150
I use mailchimp for WordPress and that will go to your mailchimp account, you will need to open. These are not the same companies, but talk to each other

Thank you I'll check out mailchimp

So am a total nub to posting and blogging..how do I do tags in my posts, I was doing my 1st post and then it said to do two tags,, please help..Thank, Pam

Think of the tag as just a way for WA to categorize the post so others can find it easily if they need help in a similar area. If your post is about getting started, tag it with “getting started”, then choose another one as a second tag. If it’s about success, click the success post button. Just pick a couple that sum up your post. That’s all.

Oh Thank You Eric

No problem :)

Sorry, i guessI should have said WA blog, what information do I put in the "tag" box

You can add tags when you click on "Publish" from SiteContent by clicking on "Edit in Wordpress" - you'll see the tag widget to the right hand side of your post.
