Generally the books that they were giving away for free were just to get them up in rankings. Then after they moved up then they would start charging for them. I have gotten a lot of Kindle books this way. But, I think Amazon finally realized they were losing a lot of money too! So, now they will just have to charge like 99 cents to get it promoted then charge more money later on. I would have paid up to 5.00 dollars for some of the books I got for zero.
Thanks for the post. I am in the process of working on a book so this information was very valuable for me.
