Work, Rest or Play

For me this week is going to be one of those where family and life in general get in the way of my plans. Take today for instance I have had to travel to Ipswich to visit my partners daughter.

It's not that I don't like visiting but it does seem to get in the way of some of my plans, so my

plans have to be altered accordingly.

It's all right to say you can do some work when you get back this evening but it's Monday and so it's also quiz evening. We all have to have some playtime even when we are pushed as far as work is concerned, and then of course there's always tomorrow.

Ah! Tomorrow. Of course I need to catch up on what I've missed today, but tomorrow we have to take my partners grandchildren out for the day. This will involve some lunch and a movie and back home in time to do some work for the evening. Unfortunately things aren't going to work out that way. We have a full evening agenda going for an Indian meal with the church.

So already we are at Wednesday and very little work has been done. So I will be extra busy on Wednesday morning. Wednesday afternoon is playtime again as we always go out on a

Wednesday afternoon to some entertainment.

So Thursday and Friday are going to be really busy days from a work point of view. There will be no playtime or rest time on these two days as I tried to catch up with all the work that I've missed so far in the week.

I usually take Saturday as a rest day, but this week I will have to be working on Saturday.

I look forward to Sunday as I get time off to go to church or should I say I take time off to go to church. This will be followed by a leisurely lunch and a relaxing afternoon.

And so my week is made up, the children have been off school this week for half-term. And so my life has to revolve around what others want to do. I don't mind this is it does give me a little bit of a break as well so to me this week has been more rest and play than work.

I am the first one to say your health, and then family must come before everything else. It is my fault I am out of kilter this week. I totally forgot about the half-term holiday!

I hope you enjoyed my short tale and look forward to getting back to full action next week.

Thanks Derek!
We all have our roadblocks. It may be tomorrow or day after tomorrow but we can make the effort to catch up eventually. No time limit on WA!
KyleAnn

Very true KyleAnn. We just have to catch up when we can.

Last week was one of those weeks for me. Between unexpected errands, dinners out, and doctors appointments, I still don't know where the week went, and have little to show for it. Now to get back on track this week.

Yes, sometimes it is just playing the game of catch-up.

Derek

Funny how life sometimes gets in the way of our progress, but I'm sure you will make it up and then some. Thanks for sharing, Deanna

Yes, we all seem to do this sometimes Deanna.

Seems I have weeks like that also. They seem to hit just about the time I feel like I'm getting my mojo going too.

We need to pull ourselves together. lol

A good balance is important. If you work too hard you neglect the others, if you play too hard you get nothing done. It can sometimes be tricky, but whatever you do do it with passion.

Very true Rika. Sometimes it is a fine balancing act.

Good stuff, absolutely right health and family should always come first.

Thanks Michael.

I share your concerns about time management, Derek and completely agree that our focuses need to be our health first and family next.

A wonderful week with the odd headache to get my goals completed.

You're welcome Roger.

Derek,

I always have goals in mind but frankly never try to plan
anything because when I do nothing ever works the way
I have it planned out to work.

Going with the flow of things usually works best for me
but I suffer from insomnia so if I get back in later than
planned I just keep on working until let's just say I am
falling head first on the keyboard LOL

Not really but you get the idea planning for me just does
not work so rather than try I just let it roll off and keep
doing what needs to be done.

Some people work better with plans and some without plans. It is just doing what is best for you but managing to keep to your goals.
