Last time I spoke about mindset and what I do to change mine. Today is more about keeping a good mindset.

Everybody is going to get disappointments in their life. It is the way we handle them that makes the difference on how we act immediately afterwards.

If you are one of those people who can just shrug it off then I say well done and good luck to you, but if you are among those who take these things to heart then it is time to start changing your life for the better.

Let's look at what sort of things affect you and why. I can only go on my life experiences and the ways I have learned to overcome the difficulties.

I get upset very easily. Sometimes the slightest thing could set me off. I still have some triggers to overcome but I am overcoming them.

The first thing to realize that any criticism is not directed at you! If somebody criticizes something you were involved with then the first thing to do is look at it logically.

Was it constructive criticism designed to help you? Sometimes we can't take any type of criticism, but if there is something wrong with your work isn't it better that someone should be helpful and point it out to you.

I used to say no, but now I realize I was being helped although I didn't necessarily take it that way at the time. Now I thank them for their help and keep a good mindset.

This way I have taken what my mind was determining as being a negative and turning it into a positive.

So start being more realistic when someone says something is wrong! Change the negative to a positive. Keep an open mind as to what the comment meant. We can all take things the wrong way at times.

Do what you need to do to be as relaxed as possible. Clear your mind. Set a positive mindset. Where it is possible, turn negatives into a positive and where it is not possible dismiss the negative from your mind.

Now all this is just words and easily written or spoken but until you face your problems nothing will change. Something that to you may seem unkind is probably not meant that way at all.

Look at being more positive all the time.

I like this piece Derek, I can relate as I have something that triggers to upset me.

There are times as well that I felt down and times that my brain cramp that I can’t think of anything better.

It is difficult but I keep trying to look at the bright side...

Thank you so much Derek for sharing this thoughtful message.

Best wishes,

Julie❤️

Positive minds create positive outcomes. Thanks for the post Derek, but when someones negative comment has an influence it is so unfortunate. Let's not let anyone's negativity or critical comments influence us, let's not give them the power to dissuade our eventual success. Derek, sorry if I posted on your post.

No problem Michael. We can all decide on something and then find someone else is posting on it as well.

As long as we are all giving good information than it is good.

I love your heartfelt message Derek! Things that should meditate upon!

Thanks for reading John.

This is a great message Derek and one that I have tried to adopt throughout my life. Sometimes I fail but that is okay... we are all human and sometimes it is hard to get over a comment that we take as negative.
As long as we keep moving forward with positivity in the main then the negatives will diminish.
With Grace and Gratitude

Hi Derek,
I like what you had to say. I was told at 20 yrs. old I had MS. 24 years later I deal with the effects. I let what people say to my kids slide right off. I tell my kids to do the same! I got my crappy cards 3 months after I got married. No kids yet. I HATE FIGHTING, but I fight myself EVERYDAY. I still use a walker to get around my ranch-style farmhouse.
I've learned to deal with my situation with humor most of the time. I just don't let myself go to the other place for very long! But, yes, everyone is different in the way they deal with things..
I've been at WA and haven't made any money yet. That's a little disheartening, but I started asking for criticism on what I could change. I KNOW it's not at me personally. It's about my website ( that yes this non-techie got made with WA help).
I'm not an outward religious person, but I keep telling myself 1 thing. God doesn't give you more than you can handle!
Thanks for your post! It was enjoyable to read!
Best Wishes
Susan

I am sorry to hear of your problems Susan. With the internet, it is always persistence that pays off.

I tend to stay more positive and optimistic because certain things we can not change about issues or others.
