Learning To Manage My Time. (At Last)
When you are active within WA then you probably like me get many emails. What should you do with them?
There was a time when I was going through them fastidiously and answering all that I could. The trouble with this was I became overwhelmed and had no time to write posts for my websites.
Having had a six month break my websites are looking pretty sorry for themselves and so I need to spend a lot more time on them than I did previously.
My problem is I also spend a lot of time helping people where I can and again this can be very time consuming.
If you have written a poston your WA blog and I haven't answered it then all I can do is appologise, but there are only 24 hours in a day and I do have to sleep sometimes.
I am not going to allow WA to overwhelm me again, and so I am down to answering blogs that grab my attention. I am sorry if this didn't include any of your posts.
So why has this happened?
I have other interests in life along with WA and as I am retired I still like to get out and enjoy life sometimes.
Consequently I have made myself a diary of daily events and how long I am going to spend on them providing nothing else turns up in the day.
One of my passions is also cooking, this can also be time consuming but, I find it enjoyable to
make food that others, along with myself, enjoy.
Do you have a daily timetable? Do you stick to it? What do you do if you find time running out on you?

Yes, Derek, you need to prioritise constantly in order to achieve what you need to for yourself, Alan
I usually have a daily list. I do much better if I write down the most important tasks I have to do for that day.
I must admit I am still fumbling around with time management. Haven't got to where I need to be. Believe I need to follow your cue and set a timetable.
I whole heartedly agree . I also became very overwhelmed reading the blogs and trying to respond. Because I do this on a cell phone, it gives me a migraine everyday. So I did the same thing that you did I set up amount of time that I work on these and then I stop at 11 o'clock. That's provided
I can function that long. So kudos to you for coming up with the schedule and taking care of yourself.

Yes, it's true Derek and I can relate to your blog. How we wish we can have more than 24 hours a day, but anyway you are correct to say that the bottom line is time management.

Wise words indeed! If you don't plan your day, the day will make the plans for you. And these may not be in your best interest.
It comes down to having the right balance in life.
I will be writing a post about this from a new perspective. Thanks for your great advice.

Welcome to the club!
I have the same issue but I am not overwhelmed with it.
Why?
Because your PRIORITY is your website and to write quality content. Anything else is secondary, especially if a person like me has a full-time job. It is not easy to juggle both. I feel that now I am a part of the Green Berets unit. :-)
Well, my suggestion: yes, it is nice to have a high WA ranking. But most important is your website and you are moving forward. Remember your priorities!

I have to admit WA is consuming all of my spare time, in between two jobs, two kids etc. I made an extra hour of time by getting up an hour earlier to write. I have now made a writing plan for my website. And that has to take priority. Once that is completed then I am free to connect with all of the wonderful people here at WA.
Yes Sara WA can keep you extremely busy.
