Do We Need Wealth?
Yes, of course we do!
I am going to start this with a little about finding a cover image for this blog post. I naturally entered the word wealth in the search bar and every image that came up was either to do with money or oppulence. Wealth means a lot more than just material things
Before you go on and say I can do with out wealth just take a look at what wealth really is.
Wealth does not just mean to be financially wealthy. It is a common falacy that wealth only means finances.
By looking at the dictionary we find the noun wealth has two similar meanings and one archaic meaning.
The first meaning is an abundance of valuable possessions or money with the synomyns
affluence, prosperity, opulence, riches, means, substance, luxury, well-being, plenty, deep pockets,
and the second meaning is a plentiful supply of a particular desirable thing with the synomyns abundance, profusion, plethora, mine, store, treasury, copiousness, plenitude, amplitude, bounty, cornucopia,
there is also a third Archaic meaning and that is well-being.
For the purpose of this post we are looking at the second meaning. For those who read my recent blogs on wealth, health or happiness this may seem familiar to you, but to the many who didn't read those particular blogs I want to impress on you that I am not talking of wealth meaning to have a great deal of money or material goods.
The English language is famous for having one word with several meanings, as is the case of wealth. When we speak of wealth why do the majority of people automatically assume you are talking about your financial attributes? I am not financially wealthy but I am wealthy as far as health and time go. So when I ask for great wealth I am asking for all round goodness. If I am generally healthy then I am also happy. Financial wealth would never make me happy, in fact I know a lot of people who are financially wealthy who are not at all happy because they suffer from bad health.
You cannot buy good health. You may be able to pay for the latest and most technological medicines and treatments, but that does nor make you healthy.
I hope I have been able to enlighten some of you into why I say I am wealthy. I have little money, but I do have reasonable health and I am happy. That is all the wealth I need. That does not mean to say I would turn down financial wealth, but I get my happiness from all my wealth of health and happiness.

I think prosperity and wealth means feeling peaceful, happy and comfortable in one's own skin and company.
I am of the idea that monetary wealth is wonderful, however, best accumulated & received as a by product of abundant living in terms of care and nurturing of one's own alignment of heart, mind and humanity:-)
Wealthy indeed good sir!
Thank you for the inspiring and truthful post :-)

I so agree Derek. I am wealthy in health and in family and friends. Financial wealth would allow me a bit more time freedom to be able to do some more fun things! Great post!
Well said Derek. Some times wealth could take on whole new meanings in our lives that we don't consider from day to day.
Thanks for sharing this post.
Feels great when you have good health and you can look back on the things you did to get where you are.
That's quite a great point you make Derek!
Wealth is a well rounded balance of life.
Having everything in one area of life and not enough in another area always leads to difficulties down the road. Balance is the key.

Good article and I totally agree. My good health is my most valuable asset. Yes, I want to earn money in order to live my life not worrying about not having enough. Affiliate marketing has become so popular, and it frustrates me that so many are claiming their program will make you wealthy. They make it sound like it's so easy and I think most of us know that's not true
Thank you for your comments Elaine. There are some marketers who make their money telling others how to do it without actually doing it themselves.
As we all know it takes time and work to get a good website up and running.
