Are your Posts Attracting The Attention You Desire Part 2?

I hope you took note of my previous article that covered titles and headlines?

Today I am going on with this theme but instead looking at the part your body copy and images can also play in your articles, but before I go on to that I just want to check on your title and headline. Did you run them through Jaaxy?

You thought they were good but what about the search engines. Sometimes your title and or headline will only need a slight tweak to make it more visible on the internet.

Once you have got over the headline and title problem, you need to look very closely at your body copy. Does it stick to the point you are trying to make? Is it enticing enough to keep your reader going through your article.

The body of your article needs to give the information you promised in your headline and title. It needs to be informative while holding just a little back in the beginning to keep your reader interested.

If you give everything away in the first couple of paragraphs your reader is likely to leave your site, possibly ill informed because they didn't finish the article. Writing is an art form and it can be learned.

One of the most important things to remember is to make the readers think you are talking to them personally. Use bold or italics to emphasise text., but dont go overboard.

Everything should be in a conversational tone, and it should be in your conversational tone the way you would say it. There are some basic differences in the way people talk, so to make it convincing write it as if you were talking to people.

If you use ghost writers this may not happen and it is possible the site/blog could become a

little disjointed. You can rectify this by rewriting the content you have paid for into what is natural for you.

Posts always look better with some images in them. Because a picture speaks a thousand words it is extremely important that the image is relevent to the article. While we have many images available in WA there are other services you can use. Some are free and some are paid.

Unfortunately there are many devious people on the internet that think nothing of putting up images they have no rights to. The only save image other than those on WA is the one you
produce yourself.

I tend to take my camera with me a lot more than I used to just in case I find an image I can use. I know many of us have smart phones these days. If you have, use it whenever you see something appropriate to your niche. You never know when it will come in handy for an article.

Spread the images out through the post to make it more pleasing on the eye.

I didn't know I can get images from WA, where do I get those?

hey hi Louis -- there are over 1m. WA images available in the WA blog area --

... suggest go to your Profile>>My Blog>>Create new Blog>> and in the text area -- the 'image' icon just to the immediate left of ABC grammar/spell checker ...

all the best, cheerio... 😊

You can do as Keisha suggests, but the images are also available in site content.

Thanks for this lesson, Derek, it's a good reminder.

You're welcome Nicolaas.

Hi Derek, I do the best I can without infringing on anyone's topics or right.

That is good Michael.

Hey D, this is good and everything along with being informative. But, how about either a training or some examples to captivate people because even though people have the training here at WA, you're contributing what I like to call a "refined arrangement of an article". I believe you can reach more with your message by providing some examples.

I will look into that Rodney. If the articles are too long people tend not to read them but perhaps I will do a training when I finish the short series.

Derek

Very good, you made some good points and I have wondered that too if I was giving away too much too soon so your article definitely made me look inside myself and how I was conducting my article writing

But, understand this, your post would be good for first timers and those who are not good writers or writers in general; this post has the power to change that.

Thanks, Rodney, I will look at some training soon.

Derek

All god stuff Derek, so much so that having missed your last article I will toddle on back and give it a look.

Thanks
