Hi Derek, I like straddling both ladders. I would like to see an income, but at the same time want to help encourage others. I enjoy that more than anything.

I don't have a lot to offer as far as advice...due to my lack of actual experience...but it is the encouragement I give that makes me happy.

Yes, although great if you can be on both ladders I realised after being here all the time in the beginning climbing the ranks on WA and aiming for that ambassador magic number, that it is a very difficult thing to be on both ladders in the beginning, especially if you are doing online marketing part time while having a full time job.

For me personally it makes more sense atm to really start climbing the WA ladder when already experiencing a fair amount of online success, as realised one can be so active on WA constantly that you forget that you came here in the first place to generate income, not witholding from the opportunity of course to be generous when helping and supporting others on WA when you have a moment.

I also feel that once you are really successful online one has so much more from experience that one could offer to the WA community.

At the same time it is great to keep in mind that it is better to give than it is to receive and such a spirit of generousity should surely be commended. If you bless others with your generousity in regards to your time etc. you surely will be blessed in return.

I'm on both ladders daily. I do need to spend more time on my personal ladder.

I need to manage my time better.

For me, my website has been taking much of my time. It is about helping and also making money. I send people to my web to get help. I should also mention that I haven't made a cent yet. Laugh

Well i think we can be on both ladders and be happy i think its all about balance.
I saw a documentary years ago that analyzed some people in small towns in Africa.

One small town had a large company that started a big business and employed thousands of people.

All of a sudden these people had money to buy things they never had.
This is good right ! Well not exactly, because with all this money came gambling then theft and killings and drugs and stress and the people were not happy with all this money it brought with it a lot of problems.

Now in contrast another village hundreds of miles away they found very happy people there.

They had no money but they had a river that was abundant in fish and lots of fresh water and they grew there own crops for their food and in the final analysis they found these people to be the happiest .
They had no killings ,no gambling,no drugs, and no money, so like the beatles said money can't buy you love and just maybe not happiness.

So, be happy with what your doing and the money will follow.
Like a manager once told me put the buyer and seller together make sure you help them get what they want and the money will come.

I think I am actually on both ladders, but I think I spend more time on my personal ladder lately, I am constantly trying to think of ways to increase traffic to me website and of course make money, however, I never miss a WA blog post or question, I help people on here whenever I can, so maybe I've got a sort of happy medium.

Great post. I agree. Much of my corporate career I spent mentoring many individual and plan to continue here at WA...sharing information/guidance and hearing success stories always gives me that good feeling. Sure I am here to make some money but equally important is to see WA thrive with success stories. Best regards.
