Am I working Hard Enough?

As the hours creep by, totally unnoticed sometimes, I am wrestling with whether I should be posting on WA or on my website. My decision was to do the preparation for the website and post tomorrow.

Why?

I currently aim to post every other day on my website and as I posted yesterday I thought I would post here today.

Decision made and what happens? The mind goes completely blank. But I've only been back a couple of days, surely I have not burned out already.

No of course I haven't. I am pacing myself so that doesn't happen.

So I went back to OEC for some more ideas. I decided to go back to level 1 and realised that when I went through this before, well over a year ago now, I either didn't take a lot of it in or I had forgotten much of what I was trying to learn. Even basic things like why I chose my niche the way I did troubled me.

Now going over it again I can see a new niche that I would like to follow alongside my current niche. I ask myself if I will be able to handle another website and I have decided I can.

I will not start on it straight away other than buying the domain name while it is available. I feel by having two totally different niches I will be able to come up with fresh content a lot more easily. When I am stuck on one niche I can concentrate on the other. The diversity should help me follow my plans.

How do you deal with writers block?

Hi,
Dealing with writer's block is a real pain.

I always tend to find some post here or training here at Wealthy Affiliate that gives me the kick I need.

I haven't written a post in such a long time here at W.A. Today I did and it is rather a long post.

It is that long some may say it may be best for my website.

However, I like to think of it like this...

My post here has as much chance of being ranked on Google as is one on my website.

I just thought my post would benefit some of the members here too.

On that note isn't it brilliant we can get two chances of posting either here or on our websites and is ranked on Google.

As long as we don't copy the content. In all essence, we are still working.

As far as you starting a new niche you know what you can handle now and yes it may break up the monotony of just posting in the same Niche.

I wouldn't suggest a newbie do it as one site is enough to handle but you have been here a year now so you know what you can handle.

As for the writer's block/ Tons of info here to keep us going for sure.

Very true Debs. And we all have our own ways of dealing with it.

Thanks for your comments.

Hi Derek,
I try sometimes to just start writing, it is always easy to correct something you have written.

Otherwise I will go and do something else, such as walking or gardening and find that ideas will pop into my head, so I always have my phone on me to put notes down so I will be ready to write.

At the moment my goal is to post 3 times a week on the website and this seems to be working out well.

All the best
Darren

Thanks Darren. I am looking towards doing 7 posts a fortnight at the moment. The ideas are there but not always the content.

Derek

You will do good, I am sure of that.
Darren

Hell, I'm still trying to figure out how to post so that it goes viral. Ive written two post so far and it's not showing either of them as being visible to the public. I'm beinninh to wonder if this isn't a scam and I need to be looking at something else.

Hi. Remember you are just getting started. It takes time. Focus on the training.

Cheers

Michael

You're right. I get impatient and have been quick to think the worse and give up in the past. That's probably what is going on here. Thanks for calming me down Tim.

No problem. It will come together. Focusing on the training is your No.1 priority at this stage in the game.

No scam here just thousands of people helping each other.

Derek

it happens.....tomorrow is always a better day!

It certainly does Susan. Sometimes at a most inconvenient point!

That is a good idea Derek will broaden your online presence and fill in for those times when you are stuck with what next on your primary niche site.
Ray

That was my thinking Ray. Thanks for commenting.

Gosh, writers block is a problem. It can be hard to overcome when you have too many cards laying on the table. Thats when you lose your focus. I like what I saw with Soltris here on WA in the background of his video trainings. He has a huge white board behind him. He stays focused by writing in what he needs to do that day for his business and to train us WA members. Writing out an outline draft on white board helps. I’ve seen online marketers in YouTube use this method. I would like to try that thinking about getting one. Worth the investment.

Sounds like a very good idea Brenda. I am still with pen and paper or my keyboard at the moment. That is worth thinking about.

Derek

I take a walk, or read and listen to quiet music

That one seems quite popular William.

Hi Derek I find that if I look at what my niche is on the internet in a search that I find plenty of ideas for blogs.
I write them as they are fresh in my head on word then cut and paste them when I arrange my diary properly.
So I'll be posting tomorrow with work already done.
I hope this may be of help to you with writing.
Great bogs by the way
Steve

Thanks for your input Steve.

When I can't write something I tend to get off the computer for a few minutes, I'll go take a shower and think about what I would like my post to be or I'll just go outside for a breather or I'll work on my crochet(hobby) and think some more about it. This has helped me, I hope you can find what helps you deal with writers block

Thanks for your comments Jasmin.

Derek

It may sound stupid, But I have my KDrama on a tab and see that (or find new songs!).

Nothing that helps you personally is stupid. We all have our own ways of dealing with things.
