Coronavirus and South Africa shutdown
The national COVID-19 pandemic is evolving quickly, as the number of cases continue to increase. While we do not know how the coronavirus will play out, what we do know is that countries who respond quickly and decisively will reduce the impact on its citizens.

I must applaud the decisive action our President has taken to curb the spread of COVID-19, first by declaring a national state of disaster and now, by declaring a national shutdown. These measures will help our government to hold our society and economy together and emerge as safely as possible out of COVID-19.

Sis Fiona, thank you for the informative article. We are doing all our best to stay safe as well as to adhere to the Presidential requests. However, the practicality of the lockdown as pronounced so far has lot of grey areas that may be ineffective when considering the South African landscape.
1) Supermarkets will be open which employs mostly taxis and buses transport users from the townships.
2) Food outlets will be open and these are going to be infectious points
3) Supply chain stores must be operational and as such what will be the lock-down?
We need a proper shutdown which addresses South African problems and not Metro problems.
We need those testing kits available in small towns like Zeerust where life continues as normal.

Thank you Welcome, you are right l was also very sceptical about the other businesses left open but with my line of work they will quarantine staff members they have booked a logde for staff only they won't be allowed to go anywhere except for work and back to the lodge using provided transport that will be in quarantine. There was a time when people didn't know and suffered. We can see this by searching Intentional Spread Of HIV In South Africa Exposed by Ex-merchant.
He confessed about clandestine operations to infect Africans with HIV, a non-militaristic way of killing. Searchable also on FaceBook.
Doctors in Italy say people recover though an equal amount don't. This is hopeful that some do recover, that it can be avoided, and hopefully soon there will be news that it is being contained worldwide.
