How do I make it so all my posts don't all run together on one page. Is there a plugin to break up each post where they can click on "continue reading" like on Kyle's site: waysto

Got er done. Hey JGX4, just follow Rich's directions. It was a little confusing at first, but it's easy once you get the first post done.. Let me know if you need help.

Thanks Rich, I'll give it a try.

It's often Theme dependent. You can try putting a *more* break in your text, use this icon http://d.pr/i/Yf51 in the Visual tab. However, the best solution is to use an Excerpt which gives you control over exactly what will be displayed. In a Post, click on Screen Options (top right hand corner of screen) and tick Excerpt. You'll see a new editor window beneath the post where you can enter exactly what you want to appear as a summary. You might also need to set Settings > Reading to show Summary or set a specific Theme option to display the Excerpt summaries. Rich.

Thank you x

I'm having the same problem. I'll keep an eye out for the answer. x

I'm trying to get it to look like this with the "read more" options. http://d.pr/i/BFqR

Hi Brian are you looking for a drop down menu, or a sticky post. If the sticky post here is a link by Chris https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/make-a-wordpress-post-sticky.

sorry maybe this will help make your page the sticky one, on the right side of your edit page right under publish click on edit visability then click on public and under that check Stick this post to the front page I hope thats it cause it worked for me

Yes on your dashboard go to your settings then reading click on static pages and make your home page your front page, I hope thats what you are looking for.

That's not it. All my posts show up on the home page. Want it to show just part of it, then make them click to read the rest like on Kyle's page.

Hey Patricia, sorry about that. I figured out the problem. You have to click on the link at the top of the page that says wealthy affiliate-uncensored. Then it takes you to the same page but with a comments section at the bottom. Not sure why it does this, so I sent Kyle a message about it. Thanks for taking a look though!

Hey Patricia, I guess I should post it instead of having everyone trying to find it. lol It's www.whowantstobeanonlinemarketer.com

Great detailed review. You need to put the comment plug in on your site so I can add a comment for you.

Hey Patricia, you just have to scroll down to bottom of page.

Sometimes I can be pretty lazy. Apologies.

Whoops! I would love to see your review. Here is mine. http://dynamicwebsitemarketing.com/review-for-wealthy-affiliate

Hi there. Content is fine, no problem with that. I would suggest that you need to add some images to the review as these help a lot when reading through it. I usually put one at the top (rhs), before the fold; one in the middle and again one at the end.
Hope this helps

Hudson.

What are your thoughts on this?

I guess when I was asking this question, I was thinking about all "work at home" programs, even "get rich quick" schemes. Not just WA. My thinking is that there will always be a market for this because generally people are bad money managers. Too many people live beyond their means and try to keep up with the Jones'. They dig themselves into a hole and want to find something that will stop the bleeding fast. That's when they go online to start looking for ways to make money fast and become easy prey to all the scams out there. Chances are that they'll fork out big money on the next big thing only hurting themselves even further. Just my rant.

Point taken Brian, but there are lots of people, like me, out there who wake up everyday looking for a "BeBossFree" (that's the name of the site I'm working on) opportunity, or as you call it "work at home" or "get rich quick scheme". Saying this to say that the market for WA will always exist because, like me, people will always be looking for an extra income (for whatever reason) and what they want is the best value for the least amount of money (or ideally, no money at all) and that is what WA is all about. Since I've found WA I have pushed everything else aside; no more searching for "get rich quick schemes", because I have found something real and valuable and best of all it's FREE. Now, it's all about making the best of what's offered here and SHARING the opportunity/experience with others and I do believe there will ALWAYS be people like me around; hence the market for WA will ALWAYS exist. Just my thoughts :)

Create an honest product, give it live support and keep all updates current, always play by the white hat code of honor and treat all your customers like you would like to be treated, and that product and service will stand the tests of time.

In my conversations with people, they are really impressed when I talk to them about the training and support available. Many are so gun-shy of online marketing that they are very cautious about even appearing interested. I like to talk about the latest thing I learned or when we're looking at something at work on the computer I'll make a comment about knowing how they did that widget or created a menu. Stuff I didn't even know 3 months ago. Now they think I'm an expert (ha ha...not yet) and I tell them where I learn it. The value offered here is second to none and I think that's what will convince people to join.

I totally agree with you. Haven't been here for a long time but I find that as I'm setting up my site I sometimes feel like an expert myself :) You LEARN so much so QUICKLY here, and it's all quality stuff. It's hard to shy away from an opportunity that gives you so much and requires so little in return.

Because people will always be looking for job security and freedom. :)

I think there will always be a market because there will always be more and more people who want to increase or replace their income or those that want to fire their boss. Then there are those who are entrepreneurs in any interest group. On top of that there are endless segments of society that will be searching for a way to improve their lives financially.

Well the No 1 reason would probably be, people are always looking for ways to better their life. The WA affiliate program is an excellent way for anyone to build a business for themselves by promoting a quality product, and helping other people learn the skills that will take them far in life.

how do I add google images to my image library. I save image as and can't get it to download to my media library.

Hey Brian,

I don't recommend just "snagging" images from a Google search. It's a bit like seeing a photo on display through a shop window and then wandering into the shop to steal it! You're also likely to get your site deranked at some future point if Google recognises you're using "stolen" content especially if the copyright owner takes precautions to protect their work. You can also leave yourself open to substantial demands for unauthorised reproduction fees.

There's a wealth of free imagery available legitimately. For example http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/images/

There are other resources included in this training: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/where-to-find-images-for-your-website

Hope this helps!

Rich.

thanks Rich, I'll check them out

where do I give credit on my website for that or how do I link back?

You could select the image and hit the link button and put the link there.....or just have a footnote in fine print on the bottom of the page. Carson might have some ideas on this.....

Sorry if I led you down the wrong path here, Fedex. Rich is right and you will be better off using the sources he mentioned.

Hey Jon, how do I do that? How do I find out who the author is or originating website?

There is a little "'visit page" button on google, so I just get the info from that.

As Jon mentioned below, save the image to your desktop or somewhere on your computer. Then upload the image to WordPress. It's a two-step process to get an image from Google, to your Website.

Download first to your computer
Then Upload to your Site

Thanks Carson, gonna try it now

I just download the image from google to my desktop and then go to my Edit Page page and hit the ADD MEDIA button and a Insert Media Page opens up. I just drag the image on my desktop to the open window and it automatically uploads it to my image collection. Then I hit the insert into page button on the lower right and it magically appears on the page. Make sure that you are in Visual mode, not Text mode or you won't see the image. Hope that helps...:)

Note: It's a good idea to give a credit or link back to the image author or originating website.

Thanks Jon, I'll give it a try. I was clicking "save image as" and trying to open file. Then when I clicked on the file, it would open the image but it was after leaving the page.

I always click on "View Original Image" before I do the "save as" thing.

I'm still working on writng theme pages. Is it o.k to start mentioning WA in these pages or are we suppose to tease the reader with wanting to know more about what we're involved

Absolutely, you can start mentioning WA, but remember, your goal is to first "help" people. Don't tell them stuff, show them stuff...and show them how to do stuff. If your site seems like one big promo, you are going to send people running.

I tend to create my content first, then try to incorporate strategic promotions into it afterwards.
