How Do You Start Your Morning?

How do you currently start your day? I remember one of the great motivational legends - Zig Ziglar once joked with his audience that he wakes up in the morning and reads his Bible first, and then he will read the local paper. So that he will know what both sides are up to." Lo

How about you? What do you do in the first 20 minutes of your morning?. Because the early morning habits we practice set the foundation for a happy, or less stressful day for us. That means that if we want to start our day with joy, we will have to make the decision to take the first step towards attracting joy. This we could do in making a list of 1 - 4 quick things we could do in 20 minutes that are consistent with a joyful heart.

Here are a few questions to consider if you want to try this morning enthusiasm:

1. What do I have to tell myself the very time I wake up every morning?

2. How could I intensify my gratitude in the very first 20 minutes of my wake-up?

3. How could I use prayer and the Word to build my day successfully?

4. What could I read, watch, or listen to during the first 20 minutes as I wake up?

I believe strongly that how we start our morning routines, what we say, not say, eat, not eat, watch, not watch, read, and not read, have great effects on our overall well-being. As for me, having a daily quiet time, with devotionals. We have the potential to have a less stressful day, by preparing our days, and not leaving anything for chance.

The experience I had last week helped me to have a second thought of how I have been running with an almost empty tank, because of the quest to accomplish certain daily talks I'm grateful. I learned something!

I try to kick it off with motivational speakers and framing a positive mindset. Looking at my daily plan and saying that I am going to crush it today. If I get stuck try to recharge in one way or another.

I believe you Hugh. I love that you “try to kick it off with some motivational messages. That can be powerful! It’s like taking some vitamins supplements to boost the mind, to get it prepared for the rest of the day challenges.

Good morning to you too! It is morning here; almost 3:00 AM, but I'm still up and working as my schedule is all over the place. You made some excellent points; I try earnestly to bring joy into my day by starting my day with some scripture and a great cup of coffee. The days I fail to do so are never as good as the ones I take the time to start out right.

Denies, wow, I know how that feels. Waking up early to work from morning to the next morning is the reality for some.
Well, we have to be intentional about how much time we commit to things that matters most to us.
We can’t keep postponing our happiness.
Let us feed our body each morning with healthy breakfast, our spiritual life needs food also, likewise our souls. I will not be detailed here, because I know that you understand it better.
Our mornings routines can be adjusted for the betterment of the rest of the day, and for our peace of mind while facing the daily challenges.

I always believe the mood you’re in when you go to sleep affects how you feel when you wake up. I on my first few minutes of waking I go over my goals of the day. Thanks for sharing

Cathy, that’s also true. That’s why it’s important to not allow the sun go down while we’re still angry at someone. Or so worried about a situation which we may not have control over.
Obviously, we just have to guard our minds, against anger, worry, anxiety and so forth. They’re not doing any good to our lives.
Yes, we can go over our goals and make necessary changes if needed to make sure we’re not exceeding our bodies’s speed limits so to say. I know what I mean.

Yvan, that’s very true. How we start our day matters a lot. To some it seem trivial. Some people all in the quest to accomplish their To-Do_List, they starve themselves; with no good breakfast which is like energy investment, they starve the spirit and the soul. It ought not be so. We can learn to plan our mornings as to experience a productive day with happiness.
