How do you currently start your day? I remember one of the great motivational legends - Zig Ziglar once joked with his audience that he wakes up in the morning and reads his Bible first, and then he will read the local paper. So that he will know what both sides are up to." Lo
How about you? What do you do in the first 20 minutes of your morning?. Because the early morning habits we practice set the foundation for a happy, or less stressful day for us. That means that if we want to start our day with joy, we will have to make the decision to take the first step towards attracting joy. This we could do in making a list of 1 - 4 quick things we could do in 20 minutes that are consistent with a joyful heart.
Here are a few questions to consider if you want to try this morning enthusiasm:
1. What do I have to tell myself the very time I wake up every morning?
2. How could I intensify my gratitude in the very first 20 minutes of my wake-up?
3. How could I use prayer and the Word to build my day successfully?
4. What could I read, watch, or listen to during the first 20 minutes as I wake up?
I believe strongly that how we start our morning routines, what we say, not say, eat, not eat, watch, not watch, read, and not read, have great effects on our overall well-being. As for me, having a daily quiet time, with devotionals. We have the potential to have a less stressful day, by preparing our days, and not leaving anything for chance.
The experience I had last week helped me to have a second thought of how I have been running with an almost empty tank, because of the quest to accomplish certain daily talks I'm grateful. I learned something!
