Do Next Right Thing

Last Update: September 13, 2021

Take this as a quote, "If we don't learn to create personal success, getting more in life leaves us feeling more dissatisfied and anxious."

Personal success refers to when we really feel good about ourselves as regards to our past, present, and future."

What I have seen is that oftentimes, when we devote all our attention to what we consider outer success, we may get it faster but the danger is that we may lose other important areas of our lives, which include our well-being, our relationships, and faith. This may sound negative, but it is not and I don't intend to. Rather it is an insight.

Let Us Be Self-Aware

It is creating awareness. Because today, as we can see many millionaires are turning up faster than before but still the society or even families are not enjoying the full benefits of such status like before, because of lack of the healthy balance that allows one to be content with who he/she is rather than feeling conflicted or divided as is the case with many people these days.

Based on the fact that today’s life is becoming burdensome, let me encourage us with a different line of thinking perhaps. It is no longer an exaggeration to say that these days are becoming highly complicated and overwhelming sometimes for so many. To the point that no matter how much we try to get things under control, things still get out of control.

What do we do in such situations? Just do the next right thing period. So if you want to reduce the complexities, the confusion, and daily complications around, just learn how to do the next right thing. For instance, what is the next right thing you can do when you’re faced with unexpected interruption or disruption of your plans either by weather conditions, family issues, etc?

What Is The Next Right Thing?

Well, the next right thing can be for you to pause, be in control of your reaction to any event or situation that wants to threaten your peace and progress. I have learned how to pause, breathe deeply, and remind myself by saying something like “This too will come to pass.”

What if on the other hand, the challenge facing you is a result of congestions, or confusion of the mind, what I call mind fog, you can still do something about it, if you can do the next right thing. For instance, you can choose to decongest whatever congestion if it is in your mind by speaking out, reaching out for help, etc..

Also, if it is caused by procrastination, then you can begin to make an absolute commitment to take daily action towards a particular goal that has been put off for a long. Taking a decision to do the next right thing can help keep your life and days on track.

Sometimes, that next right to do may be as simple as taking a break to rejuvenate, to go get some good sleep, eat quality meals on time, making out time to pray, feed your mind with the word, and meditate. Learning how to do the next right thing

Will help to reduce the tensions, frustrations, despair, and help you be in control of your reactions to daily challenges.

Awareness is the first door to open! We don't know what we don't know until we become aware. Developing a consistent spirit of awareness is a key skill!

JKuk1, thanks so much, you nailed it. As you affirmed, taking a deep breath, relaxing, reflecting, meditating, praying, are steps to doing the next right thing no matter the challenges we face.

You are right on point. Many a time, I have cleared ' mental fog' by just taking a long walk around the house. That was the next right thing, I suppose.

Yes, it is Dadaz, I suppose. Actually, it is up to everyone to find out what is the next right thing to do, whenever things are not adding up as they should. Taking a walk, going shopping or window shopping, swimming, biking, etc, can be a good choice in the case of mental fog feeling.
Dadaz, longest time, I'm glad you stopped by. Thanks so much for your comment.
Have a blessed week!
