If you had a choice of a niches you liked and found good keywords versus one you could learn that had fantastic keyword (low competition, QSR, etc.), which way i

Soooo would "why do you listen to music?" be a niche? I could promote content around music therapy, and maybe sell products that are related to music? I know.....keep reading right... :) ok

Answered you privately.

Just read a blog by, I think, PotGirl wish I knew how to find her Profile again. I thanked her for the info, but now can't find her. But, wow! Does she ever make sense. She says our success depends on forming our own community around a subject, and then being everywhere all the time - in the end far more important than Google Rankings.

Using Jaaxy, I found a juicy keyword set with 5,000 monthly searches, Estimated Traffic 915, QSR - 38, SEO Power 94. While the stats look great, do you recommend going afte

One of the main things that I always look for is not only my competition, but what is my competition on the first page of Google? (With a QSR of only 38, this more than likely is not an issue for this keyword.) Jaaxy makes this really easy because you can assess the competition from right inside of Jaaxy. Sure, there may only be 38 competing pages, but if those 38 pages are established, have perfect SEO, and have fresh content added to them regularly, then your site will be sitting on the bottom of the fourth page of Google, in spot 39, and nobody will make it down to your site. Just something to think about.

Solid advice. What if several at the top are not providing fresh info and it's only their blog that is ranking in the nich, but they are large reputable sites. Can my site rise above these big guys?

I personally would write the article, and just keep on adding quality content. You may not get ranked for that keyword, but content that is regularly added to a site only helps it in the long run.

I'd definitely go for it, why not? However, a word of caution, a keyword must make sense, insofar as you can write it exactly as it is without subtraction or addition in the title and first para of your page or post. ie. "how to prune a rare orchid" is fine, but "prune rare orchid how" isn't. :) Likewise, "get out debt" becomes a different keyword if you add the "of" in when writing it on your post or page. Rich.

Just a question? If I go after something odd like "prune rare orchid how", and those weird keywords have good traffic, why won't it be good. It's the keywords Searchers are typing, so why won't I get the traffic by matching keywords.

You use different but relevant keywords in every page and post of your site. You put them in the title and first para. How would you use "prune rare orchid how" in the title and first paragraph of a page or post, when you came to write the relevant content? You might want to have a look at this: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/wa-affiliate-bootcamp-content-keywords-and-conversions/google-instant-a-day-of-selling/ :) Rich.

Good point. Thanks!

First of all, congrads Kyle on your new daughter!

I have come questions about difference when comparing results between Jaaxy and Google Keywords

1) I am

I am confused about this discussion. Jaaxy is an excellent tool as a member. Using the WA keyword tool can help you find your niche and competition. Google doesn't charge for keywords. Searching in Bing and Twitter can give you additional perspective. Adwords is one area Google does make money, as we can as well.
We are all here to learn, and teach and become successful. Using as many tools as possible to make success possible is definitely key. Content (using target keywords) is essential to a well developed site.

I knew my question was going to be hard to understand. In this particular case Jaaxy says one thing and Google says another, in the other case it's the opposite. Don't get me wrong I use Jaaxy a lot and love it!

I am providing feedback and I don't want to spend a lot of time trying to rank based on false information. I don't expect any system to be perfect, and none are. I'm not the type to just sit back and just accept inconsistencies.

Getting on Google first page is the goal. Inconsistencies would be unacceptable to me too. Sure wish I could be more helpful.

Keyword tools are ok to see if there is much traffic for a certain keyword, but I don't rely on them for competition. My reasoning is that I don't care how much competition there is for any keyword. I only care how strong the competition is on the first page of Google. There can be only 45 competing pages, but if the SEO is perfect on the first page, they are established sites, and they have regular content updated to the sites, you are not going to rank on the first page. If all 45 competing pages are too strong to beat, you are going to end up on the fifth page, at the 46th spot, and no one will find your site. Read this article that Kyle just wrote:

http://waystoavoidscamsonline.com/how-much-traffic-will-i-get-if-i-rank-1-in-google-you-might-be-surprised

On the flip side of that coin, there can be 500 competing pages, but if they are weak on SEO, and I think I can beat them to the first page of Google, I'll go for it.

That is one nice feature of Jaaxy. You can check the top ten results in Google, and see what the competition looks like. They basically take all of the work out of it and give you the answer as to whether or not you can compete with those other sites.

Ah.. makes sense. Also, I just when to Google keywords and there is a box on top that says, "Google External Keywords is going away, soon only available to Adword users." You know anything about this?

Something to remember about the Google Keywords tool. Google blows up their numbers. I think they are insecure about their manliness or something. They also exaggerate their numbers on their tool because that is one tool that they use to make money. If a keyword is searched and has "high" competition, then they can charge more for it.

My affiliate link takes people to my photo page. Is that the way it's supposed to work? Seems like should go to a sales funnel and signup page. Just learning....

@skiergal - so I could use either one? The Stats or Personal Link?

Famous the link at the top of the stats page is your personal link. Note the code at the end of the url which is unique to you.

Yes, you can use either one and still get credit if a user signs up to WA.

The only difference is that the affiliate link you took from your profile page will take the visitor to your profile page. And the link you took from the affiliate stats page will take the visitor to WA's front page ( http://www.wealthyaffiliate.com)

Famous use your invite link located at the top of your "My Stats" page. This will take them to the WA welcome page http://www.wealthyaffiliate.com . Your personal link has your affiliate id imbedded in the url so you get credit for the referral.

I think I was sharing my profile link. Thanks for seeing the problem. The profile "Affiliate Link" is misleading. I think I fixed it. Let me know if this is right. My first time... http://livingpros.com/affiliate-marketing-dummies/

Are you sharing your profile link or your invite link?... either way it works the same thing:)
