Five Things I learned from Kyle's Webinar
Don't Fear the Competition!
Essentially he wants you to stop worrying about if you will get ranked under one certain keyword set. The key is to get as MANY low hanging key words with at least 30 searches a month as possible. These "low hanging fruit keywords" will get you ranked as a group. Then the Competition will have to worry about you not the other way around. Take the time to look at it that way. They are not the competition, YOU ARE!
Content Relevance.
This is extremely important. Yeah, there are people out there. Yeah, they want what you are selling. Do they trust you to know enough about your product or niche to buy from you or your affiliate links? At first, probably not. That is o.k. Your goal with your site is to bring them relevant content that supports the claim that you do know enough that they can trust you and buy from you or your affiliate links.
Commission Based Advertising is Great!
If your advertising is relevant to your niche. Big money commissions are great and all, but are they relevant to what you are saying? If not, then they are a waste of space and are only costing you money. Even if the commission payout is low, having a ad that is relevant to your content is way more likely to turn into money than a big, expensive commission ad that has nothing to do with your content.
Don't put a $300 blender on a dog niche website. Put a $300 dog bed or maybe an expensive grooming kit. Or simply put a cheap dog toys ad that may give you a commission of 3% per purchase. People are more likely to buy if the content matches the ads that they are seeing.
Stop Thinking in the "Get Rich Quick Scheme" Frame of Mind!
No matter what you do, no matter what you try, you are not going to make $1000 right off in your first two weeks. So, just put that out of your mind. If you put the time and effort into the work you may be able to get a small income going by the time you hit your six month mark.
It can take anywhere between one and six months to be ranked on any search term in google near the first page. Most people report managing to break into the top google pages within three months. Hear that, Months. So, just stop wasting time thinking that this will make you rich in the next thirty days.
People, People, People!
We are her for the PEOPLE! Our only real job as webmasters is to bring relevant content the the niche of viewers that we have chosen. My niche is the first time growing cannabis. Many people will be getting into this niche in the coming years because of the changes in legalization across the United States and the world. That also means that I am not trying to teach people how to groom their cat on my website.
Don't over think it. Find low hanging relevant keywords to build your pages on. Add only relevant commission based ads into your pages (though not so many that google sees you as spam). Focus on your niche of People. There are plenty of them just waiting to see your website reach the first pages of Google!

I totally agree. You or I may learn slower than the other. That does not mean that we both wont understand the same thing eventually.
Great post Matthew (or rather Brittany). I love reading the take-a-ways- from this teaching of Kyle's. Is good to see his points expressed in the words of different people and helps us all to learn things in a different way.

I know. It is crazy to see how differently each person understands the exact same content. I feel in a webinar like Kyle's, there is so much information that our brains are tuning into what is relevant to us at the moment and letting the rest slide. That is why we get different things each time. Because we are dealing with different problems.
