Bubbles of Reality
We all have our bubbles of reality that we exist in each day. Sometimes they are bright and warm, occasionally downright cold and they make us want to escape to better places where the grass is greener. Unfortunately though, that option doesn't always seem open. There are household bills to pay, children to care for, a job to manage . . . you get the picture? You know what's in your bubble.
According to Who?
Well, according to research the majority of people out there are well and truly in their bubble and not living their ideal life. Statistics show that 97% of retired people are broke after years of working and doing their best. This is a sobering thought and very much blamed on the herd mentality by some commentators. In other words, most of us are simply doing what society expects and playing by rules other than our own. We follow the herd.
Of course some people object to the way things are and go off in search of the greener pastures. Sadly though, only a small percentage find their utopia.
Why is That?
In short, it's because they look for external formulae rather than looking within. I wonder if that's why so many fall for well or not so well-disguised get-rich-quick scams?

What Do You Need?

The funny thing is (well not funny at all), self-talk is one of the crucial success or failure factors so be careful about what you say because you are listening.
I expect great, above average success.

I may not be as successful as XYZ but . . .
The language we use to ourselves can make or break us so, take care.
Here's a Thought . . .
The people who achieve their deepest dreams or accomplish their most heartfelt goals know exactly what they want.

Great post Steve, it is quite an eye opener, 97% statistic of broke retirees, a sobering thought when I am only 4 years away from retirement and yet not nearly enough to live on.
I feel that three or four years is enough time to continue my progress and start the earning process. There is no reason to doubt this, I have seen too many succeed to know that it is perfectly within my power.

Great blog Steve.. we have learned along the journey with our son, the tennis player, that we are following our own path, it’s our journey not anyone else’s, so we do not compare him or ourselves with anyone else. It makes everyday a positive focus rather than a disappointment. I’ve no doubt we will not be well off in old age, we have and are pouring our wealth into our children, fulfilling dreams. But in doing so fulfil our own. I love working g hard, focusing on doing better, learning more, helping others. It makes my day.

It can be hard sometim s committing to something but at the end (hopefully) it’ll be all worth it.
