The Ex9to5er Show
I was recently watching an old favorite movie of mine "The Truman Show" and it got me thinking about how I'd feel looking from outside in on my life. It's easy for us to yell at the TV on what we would do in a situation or how we would do it 10x better, but thinking about my choices I've made would I be satisfied?
Cut!
I personally would have to yell cut!! I'll be honest I've been working hard on building my own business, but if I was watching my show I wouldn't be satisfied with effort I'm putting it.
I couldn't accept me choosing to be lazy and just write a post tomorrow instead or do research later because I'd rather do something else that temporarily gives me satisfaction. I'd be yelling at the TV telling myself to "suck it up and write a review, it will pay off in the long run"
Be Oscar's Worthy
We need to look at ourselves as if we're judging that character, are you Oscar worthy or just a B-flick. They both can be good, but only the best will gain that Oscar and solidify their place in the future.
I have had success in ventures prior to WA, some of them I still profit from and others I knew when to cut loose. But being an affiliate is a long game (or long role), you have to put in that effort to earn your Oscar.
Take a look at your favorite actors, you will watch a movie just based off their prior roles. They have earned your respect as an actor and done their job to keep you coming back to the theater year after year. In the same way that I'm sure we have all seen actors disappear and loose their luster overtime as well.
Will You Have A Part 2?
I have decided that I will have a second act, I will shoot for that Oscar and do what it takes to gain the respect of my following. I may play a small role currently in this large pool of affiliates, but I will earn that second act, that part two.
I hope to see all of you at the Oscar's, whether it's starting at that smaller supporting role where I am currently or on that main stage year after year. We all possess what it takes to take home the Oscar, we just have to step back and take a look at our performance and make sure our "Ex9to5er Show" is worthy of that second act/season.

I love your post, but sometimes it's difficult to look at ourselves, and moreover, we are our own worse critics!
That is a very good point Jeff, for me I have to self motivate here. I haven't made the wonderful impact you have here yet and don't have much support outside of the platform.
This is my first time on WA in over a month sadly and I don't think many have missed me. But that is my own doing, guess I just want to make that impact that I'd be missed here if I wasn't on like you have!

Very true, as Jeff said it isn't common and it's hard to achieve since we are our worst critics. But I don't have the support yet others may have achieved due to my own efforts, I plan to change that this year!

Yea but then again how cool to be a celebrity and not even know it. Tshirts made with your face on them and coffee mugs and so on.
