If You Want To Kill A Big Dream Tell It To A Small Minded Individual

Last Update: November 12, 2019

This will be somewhat of a lame post as I haven't learned a huge amount yet, but I have to say I am extremely proud of myself! I have been trying to work toward financial freedom for years and have never felt closer than here at WA.

Bit About Me

I won't go into much detail about myself as I'll post my site soon and you can check it out in full. But to explain how excited I am, I have to share a bit..try not to fall asleep ;)

As a kid I was enrolled in a private school which for all of elementary I loved, heck even part of middle school was great! But as I got a little older it became very apparent these kids' families were very wealthy, and I..well..was not. The school was expensive, but the church I went to covered most the cost so it was affordable for my parents. As previously mentioned, the early years were great and I had a lot of friends. Then came late junior high and high school..

As these kids' got older they started to exclude me, and I couldn't see why. I was a nice guy in my opinion and never changed anything when they all started to exclude me. One day it clicked, because I couldn't afford the newest stuff or in high school couldn't afford spring break out of state.. I failed to be as relevant and many of them became distant.

I'm sure most would assume this hurt me and broke my heart. In all honesty it did, but I realized that wasn't what hurt most. What really bothered me was people could go to work giving their all, going above and beyond likely parents did, and still..you could struggle. I wanted better for myself and my future kids'( not that I doubted my parents did everything they could), I wanted to be able to afford my hobbies and vacations. If you work hard you deserve that right?

Wealthy Affiliate Changed Everything For Me

After my childhood I manifested a dream, I wanted to make sure I had everything myself or my family ever needed and have extra money to get our reasonable wants as well! I tried college, got a career..the usual. The money was ok, but I wasn't happy and I gave all my energy every day for people who didn't appreciate me anymore than the guy who slacked off. This is when I knew I had to start something of my own, something I could take pride in and know all my energy was going towards MY business. To save time and your eye balls from hurting.. I tried many things, wasted a lot of money and got nowhere..

Well that was until I found this wonderful training and community, you all have revamped my confidence x10! I feel like everything falls in to place here for me, it feels right..like I was meant to find this platform and the amazing community that we have here. I am obsessed with working on my sites and content here! It's almost 5 a.m. I can barely see straight, but I couldn't sleep so this was my first thought.

The thing that sparked this whole post was as soon as I hopped on I had a message on my screen, my site has finally been indexed by Google! But that's just the start, if you can't tell from reading this so far I plan on making a full time income with my own business here at WA! As of now, I'm plugging away at site giving every moment I have to growing my business.

A Thank You To My Mentors

When I say Mentors I don't just mean Kyle..this thank you is for everyone of you who welcomed me with positively, those who have helped me so far, and to all I will meet in this great community moving forward! In the next two years I'm hoping to be able to make this my full time income hence my name ex9to5er.

Thanks for reading,

Collin aka ex9to5er

Hi Collin, the great thing about creating an online presence is that it is beyond real-world realities, one of the last remaining places where we can create a space based on the things that we create.

The internet doesn't discriminate.

Looks like your journey has begun, keep that enthusiasm rolling.

Great blog Collin.. I resonate with you schooolwise.. my parents are working class and worked hard to get me into a private school and get a better start than they had, they grew up during WW2. My friends at school changed as time went on, the haves and the have nots. The haves went away for skiing holidays it to their condo in Florida ( we lived in UK) . We went to a caravan in Scotland if we were lucky. But I got a good job nursing, met my husband, a doctor, but we both work hard ... we had triplets.. a huge financial undertaking for a young doctor.. don’t think we ever recovered.🤣 they’re older now and we have a younger son, a tennis player.. so we still have to work hard. I don’t mind.. I love that I can!

If I can help anytime, just holler!

Thank you, I didn't think I was alone in the private school situation of friends falling away as time went on. But looking over these comments, I see it was more common then I expected. I guess going through it has brought a lot of people here!

Thank you for sharing a little bit about yourself, I'm glad you can help your children with their goals like our parents pushed to make happen for us!

Thank you, again I will definitely holler if I need some help :)
