Hi. I am following the lecture 3 of WA. Kyle listed several affiliate networks in the tutorial. However, I want to point out that newbies might miss the fine prints of service terms of affiliate networks. Here, I take ShareASale for example to show you that you have to know what's your grace period!

From the first line of the second picture, you read what's the fee involved and what is defined as an inactive account.

So, make sure you have to log into the account at least once in 6 months or otherwise your account will be deducted $25 if less than $50 in account until you have no dollar left and kicked out.

Other affiliate network have similar policy too. Amazon gives you 180 days of grace period before your account is kicked out because of inactivity. I have heard of CJ network is the toughest, I haven't tried it yet. CJ policy says if there is no sale within about 6 months then the account is considered to be inactive!! That's really tough for newbies with no experience. Newbies outside WA even take months to get their webpages google indexed, how can they stay without being kicked out??? Luckly, I joined WA. Tutorials and the help from members bring me hope to overcome this tough issue.

Right now, I need a strategy to deal with dormant accounts. My answer to that is "Focus".

1. First, work on the first website only before you get the money from your affiliate network account. In that way, you focus your traffic on the first website so there are more chances that your clients will click on the affiliate links.

2. Second, limit the amount of affiliate networks you join at the first time. It's simply because you are more likely able to manage less accounts than more accounts. In my opinion, I will keep no more than four accounts at the start.

3. Third, increase the traffic of your first website. So, you should work on more quality content as soon as possible or promote your website as much as you can on social media.

So, what's your tactics to deal with inactive accounts? Please leave comments. I would love to your feedback. Chime in.

Wow, yeah I remember reading that on the AmaZon fine print! Its insane that the other companies are like that but at the same time they have to draw the line somewhere I guess, and those companies have every right.. just makes us push to work harder I suppose! :) Great blog!

Great advice for all of us here at WA, experienced and new members alike!
Thank you!
