Okay, I am having the hardest time trying to find a solution to my comments and replies in WordPress.

Can someone tell me if it's in the WP settings somewhere, my theme, or plugin that is causing the replies not to go with the comments?

Site support suggested deactivating each plugin to see who's the culprit.

I have the same plugin as my other site and they are not causing any issues.

Update: 2019-09-21

Thank you everyone I have found the culprit! Only took 4 weeks!

It was a WordPress setting. Make sure, in your other comment setting, enable thread (nested) comments_levels deep is turn on or check the box next to it.

Settings > discussion > other comment settings > enable thread (nested) comments_levels deep

It's recommended to go 3 levels deep!

Woohoo! Thank goodness.

Mine is like that too in my dashboard, but on the live site they are in the right place, so I don't worry about it.

But it does make it a bit more confusing when I'm in the dashboard trying to match replies and comments together.

Thanks Stella. I wouldn't care either on my dashboard but, even on my live website

Okay, I see what you mean. That prompted me to go double check my live view. But mine are still fine on the website.

I don't know why yours would do that on the live site. Maybe you should send Support a ticket to look and see if there's some kind of glitch making it happen on your site. Or a setting that we both aren't aware of. :-)

what does it look like on your site?
it doesn't matter what it looks like in your dashboard -only you see that.
it might be filtering on date.
i just added a comment to a test site and refreshing hte page it comes up in reverse date order.
as long as it is right on the part of the site your visitors see then you may have to put up with it. it's a wordpress thing - or untick the show comments in reverse date order in settings discussion- see if that does it.

It looks the same on my live site. It seems to be filtering by dates.

Mine is like that too but the important thing is that they actually do show under the original comment when you are looking at it live?
