I have run some Google speed tests on my site and it's terrible.
What plug-in do you recommend?

I too have site speed issues. I did install WP rocket and that seemed to help. Though I still have issues with my checkout page. (It is an e-commerce site). I am working on it.

One thing I noticed while going through this is the site speed changes depending on various factors. Re-testing within minutes (with no changes) would give radically different results.

That's true, speed can depend on many factors..
What issues do you have with your check out page? I have an ecommerce site, maybe I can help you with that..

Hi Rudy,

It would be great if you have the time. My checkout page gets a 15 for page speed on mobile and 63 for desktop.

I have attempted to optimize the page using cartimize and also WP Rocket. (currently have a request into cartimize to see what can be done).

Is your website listed on your profile? If so, yes I will take a look and see what I can determine is slowing you down.

Yes - the website is listed there.

Thank you, for taking the time to check.

I see a slowdown, while trying to buy a product. It is a bit confusing. When I select a product, a new page appears (to show the product). Above the product, a banner states that "you can now add 1 product for free to the cart."
That is confusing as it is free to add a product to the cart.

When you get to the cart, that's when you decide to buy products and make any changes.

When I selected one product, 8n my cart, TWO were shown.

I'm assuming the price is not USD, so you might want to add a plugin to address currencies. There is a free plugin-
Multicurrency for woocommerce.
Updated 2 weeks ago.

When you sell single products, I know how it can be confusing sometimes when setting the attributes.

I can't tell why two products appear in my cart, when I selected only one.

When I partially filled out the address,, I only hit country to see if the prices changed. The only country listed is Thailand, which means you are only shipping to one country.

If you want to ship to USA or Canada, etc, you need to go to your shipping tab and modify the places you will ship to.

It's hard to tell from this side (customer, not admin) what else may be going on to cause rhe slowness.

Have you run a speed check yet? Off hand,I don't recall the one discussed recently, oh yeah, this one:
https://gtmetrix.com

Run your site through and see the results.

Hope that helps!

Hi Rudy,

Sorry, I should have explained. we do only ship to Thailand as we do not have an Export License, so the prices are in Thai Baht.

We are currently running a buy 2 get 1 free promotion. But you should have had to click on the add to cart 2 times in order to get 2 products.

The Free item is related to the 2 that you already had in your cart.

I have run through gtmetrix and the site currently gets a B, with the main problem being enable keep alive - which site support tells me is done already but cannot be seen.

I will keep at it.

Thank you for your time.

My pleasure...

I clicked on a couple of products to get a better page view, but only added one product to cart.

When I added a product to my cart, and saw three in my cart - 2 with a price, and one with a zero price, I didn't understand why there was a free item in my cart.
However, it does not say that you are offering a 2 for 1 sale. You don't mention that anywhere.

B score is decent. And remember that testing the site is not an absolute constant in either direction.

Can you clarify what the report told you about the main problem being enable keep alive, what do you mean?

Here's what I saw when I ran your site on GTmetrix.com.

Run at 2315 Sunday night GMT -800

The Keep Alive is related to HTTP persistent connection.

Site support said we already have it but gtmetrix cannot see it.

So, my site speed is better from where your location is. That is interesting.

Thanks again for all of your help.

Hey Lisa,

As you probably know I don't particularly like the technical side of things, so I paid someone to sort out my site speed.

They basically did some coding stuff, CSS & javascript, and image optimization.

They then installed WP rocket, which I now get for free for a year. It's then $49 for me to renew after the year is up (there are premium options as well).

I got this done in October and all my pages and posts have remained at 98-100 on both desktop and mobile ever since.

I also got a boost in rankings with most articles within 4-6 weeks.

I was thinking of WP Rocket, thanks for the answer, Partha :-)

If you decide to go with WP rocket let me know beforehand.

I can probably get my friend to sort out your speed issues and install WP rocket all for the same price (he has a premium unlimited websites version).

It depends on the issue your site is experiencing. There are a few plugins that can help.

Image Compression plugins can help to reduce the image size when a page loads. You probably already have one of these pre-installed.

Lazy Video Loading plugins can help because instead of your video is embedded into the page, it loads a thumbnail image. When the reader clicks on the thumbnail it swaps it out and plays the video.

Hi Lisa, I've tackled this problem on my website before too.
Did you check the individual site loading speed for each of your articles? Start there and fix any problems and then come back to me and we can go through the plugins.

All of my pages are coming back at 14 :-(

That's definitely not good Lisa.
Have you checked your individual post speeds and manually minimized all your pictures?

I also use the Smush plugin which condenses my photos automatically and uses lazy loading and WP Rocket and it has really helped.
After doing all this one day all my mobile loading speeds plummeted to below 30 and I asked the tech guys to have a look and I'm not sure what they did but it went back to over 90.

Try these plugins.

One of the best free plugins is:

W3 Total Cache

It offers several ways to optimize your website and reduce the page loading time.
