My site has traffic now, how do I make the front page mine? Where do I go to design that? in what lesson can I find it?

Hey Sinella,

In Kyle's lessons, he shows us how to create a blog roll as our home page.

MOST visitors will be coming to your website via a search engine results page or a post you share on social media.

However, if you want to create a unique page as you home page: Hope you find this helpful.

Go to settings -> Reading -> select latest post or a static page you designed as your homepage or front page. You can do any kind of design you like for a static page using elementor plugin or the default block editor, and then set it as your homepage.

Hi, can you help me? I have done the above yet I am unable to get to my landing page through the dashboard. I keep getting an error. I have tried going through “visit your site” and through pages.

There has never been a “Home” page, but a “Shop” page instead. That’s how it prefilled/template set it up. …but now when I click on “view” from the >dashboard >pages >shop (front page, shop page) >(tool bar) view it takes me to this page (see below**) where I get kicked out. It happens when I do several functions:
**Through WordPress if I try to visit my site in dashboard it kicks me out and says “The hosting for this domain is all set up and ready to install an awesome website”. Telling me to log in and build it. But clearly my website is installed.
However, if I am in the dashboard> pages>shop/front page> view, I can’t view my website that way.
But from a cell phone or via 3rd party it can be viewed.
The other pages can be viewed but my landing page/Shop/front page can’t.

How can I resolve viewing my site (and main products page) through the shop page view link and visit site link. Both bring me to the page below.

You may need to reset your administration password to log in to the back end of your site. For the front store, word-press don't give you access to all functions of the theme until you go pro, which I have to purchase my theme because I hade the same problem. I hope that help, if not contact support send support may send you WordPress contact email.

If you can view the page on mobile but not desktop, it's likely a browser cache issue. Try to use a different browser with private mode or clear your browser cache. If you use any cache plugin, clear the cache as well.

My apologies for just now responding. I have done a little maintenance on my site today with the home and shop page, as well and a couple other things. I have tried applying advice others have offered regarding my home/landing page being set up as the static page, yet I still can’t get around the problem of being kicked to the “WA” sign up page. I am a Pro member. When I click on *view site* from the dashboard it kicks me out to the WA page as posted above. When I click *view store* it takes me to my Shop Page. From my menu bar on my website if I click Home then it also kicks me out to the WA page too. It won’t let me access it. It seems like it doesn’t like that it is a STATIC page.
But it is a shop, a store, so I need a static page otherwise it will display the posts on the front of my store and I can’t have that!
Also, as a customer it won’t show my home page properly with my header image if I choose the home as static page. It messes that up.

You have many options.
As AbieAj suggested, log in to your admin end, in left column, look for appearance > customize. This is how you can make changes to the theme layout.

Regarding your question, how do you design your front page,, read on....

Decide on how you want it to look.
Then look at what options are available in your theme. This is to make sure that design you want will fit within the theme's parameters..

The primary goal is to imagine what you want your front page to look like. Draw it out on paper.
There are many free template layouts that you can download and use. Also called wire framing...this helps you to see what will work and what won't when designing your home page, specifically.

Hope that helps!
