I am curious if there is a perfect wordpress website that can benefit the site owner as well as the visitor?

I use seasun for my site. It's free and quite customizable. I wanted a theme that allowed me to list posts in a gallery style with pictures (even though my site is not a photography/recipe site).

Thank you for your input. I am not familiar with Seasun so I am going to go see.

There are themes that will suit your content and audience. There are obviously no perfect theme to choose from and as Kyle recommends in the training that a simple theme in black and white are statistically proven to engage a better audience.

Statistics don't lie. That would be true. A little "KISS" (keep it simple stupid) is the answer. Thank you for answering my question, BenJ.

The Eleven40 Pro theme on the Genesis Framework by StudioPress is a great blank canvas. No matter what your niche, you can tailor any of the Genesis themes with ease.

Jay, WA's video tutorial whizz is a great fan of it!

Horses for courses, I guess!

Yes that was a fantastic tutorial of wordpress themes. I had Genesis at one time and found extremely easy to use, manipulate and look good. However the $100 dollar price tag is a little steep for many users just starting out. Great suggestion. Thank you!

My partners and I all come from extensive IT backgrounds. Looking at something like WordPress which is just the opposite of our backgrounds we needed to come up with a theme or two that can be customized for anything that we wanted to do. With this being the case we could set developmental standards for our entire staff. We did that. While our approach is probably different from most people's approach this works extremely well for us and our staff.

That sounds very extensive but also very interesting. I would like to know more. I have decided to follow you, so that I may learn more about your ideas and directions.Thank you for the comment!

I don't know about 'perfect' lol. I have a few I recommend for new members because they are pretty user friendly for someone who is new to WordPress - the main one being Frontier but also Sugar and Spice.
For my use, I have come across a few I quite like because there are so many customization options I can use.
Evolve
Responsive
Tempera
Customizr
Weaver Xtreme
SongWriter

You see, you try, you learn. Thank you very much Marion about using a test site for all the different themes. I am doing this now!

I use Skylark. My website right now is sitting at the bottom of the sae of unnoticed. So I have some work to do.

We all start on the bottom of the search engines. With adding content consistently, you will eventually rise out of the basement to make it to the first floor. Then you must get to the top floor. Some take the stairs, others take an elevator. I can't seem to find either... lol

I don't have a 'favorite'....want easy to use, customizable, of course responsive, translation ready, retina if possible.....any and all perks as possible....

Hi Rosie. may I know what retina means, and why it's necessary?
Thank you.

This article explains it quite nicely, I think.....don't mind me, always trying to 'look ahead'.....

Thanks so much, Rosie.
Wow that was really techy! :)
Is that your own website?

A very good answer Rosie. I did not know that Retina was available. Hmmm, I may have to keep looking before I decide which theme is for me. Thank you Rosie!

Paid themes like 'Newspaper' & 'Avada' are very popular. Look great & easy to configure and customise to use with pretty much any type of site. Find them on Themeforest.net

These are your favorite "premium" themes? What about Studiopress?

Yeah, they look nice. As you've seen there isn't a correct answer. There are loads of great premium themes & plenty of good free ones. I use 2014 theme, with a few tweaks on a couple of sites & it is fine.

Ideally pick a theme that suits your content

That is where I am stuck at. There are several I like but getting my already built website to fit nicely into a new theme is where I am getting problems. I will keep working at it, though. Thank you for your help.

You'll probably find that there are plugins that can tweak the appearance to give you the functionality that you want.

It all depends on what your niche is and what you like yourself. I personally use one of the basic themes and it does me just fine. However, there are 1000's of themes out there with more coming all the time. Find one that best suits you and your business and go with it. Remember, don't focus too much on how good your site looks like. Yea, it has to be appeasing to the eye, but some people will spend weeks just trying to find a perfect theme. That's wasting time. Could have been using that time to focus on more important things such as framework and content!

I totally agree. However, finding just the right theme (with the hundreds to choose from) is difficult. Do you like free versus paid themes?

I run and manage over 30 niche sites. I don't have time to sit there and get picky. Some I spent more time than others to get a theme that goes with my content. But other than that. I have no problem using the free ones. Songwriter is my go to pick.

Hmmm, very good answer. So it is the content not the site itself - like the singer and not the song...
