While commenting on websites in our SiteComment section, I noticed something weird in one of the websites featured...

There's a skull symbol in the URL!

Shocked, I wondered how did they do that? And what is the possible effect, if any, in the site's ranking with the search engines.

Will it have a positive or negative effect?

Or, just plain creativity on the side of the website owner/designer.

Anyone?

Curious,

I've had one show up on a page I loaded once and it meant Bad Content or harmful content. When I tried to click on the skull it popped up a window that said error. I would stay away from any URL or page loads that don't look normal.

I believe it's something (icon or something similar) that the author has included in the title of the post, and it made itself into the title bar.

In the URL of the site itself, there's a skull symbol. Cool, isn't it?

Try refresh this post buddy. The uploading of the screenshot was delayed a bit. I regret erasing the URL as I thought the site owner may or may not like us talking about his site. I only have a saved screenshot photo of it. (just uploaded the image)
