Just took a look in Bing and couldn't understand why I couldn't find any posts that I had submitted.

I have no idea how long this has been like this as I don't really check Bing often.

I couldn't even find any mention of my site when I typed it into the Bing search engine.

Now when I type the name of the website in Google it is there at the top of the page.

I took a look and noticed that the sitemap had 1 URL attached and I haven't a clue why.

Thought I would check the Google console and the sitemap was completely missing.

Any idea what is happening?

Cheers

Mick

Hey Mick,

On May 1, member Frank (aka FrankB-1) was having a similar issue: So, he submitted a ticket to Bing Webmaster's support and the last we chatted, he was waiting for their assistance.

You may find help with this issue by reaching out to Frank, and see if he's been able to resolve his issue. Then follow the steps he took in hope of resolving your issue with Bing.

Hope you find this helpful

Thanks for that Trish but I didn't think to get in touch with Bing support since I re-submitted the sitemap and last I saw it was processing.

I'll see how this gets on but I will certainly bear Frank in mind if I don't get any joy,

I have just checked webmaster and it has finished processing and picking up all the URLs so it does appear to be ok now.

Cheers

Ah, Trish but it hasn't been resolved even though I re-submitted a sitemap thinking this was the problem.

As far as Bing is concerned my website or any post does not exist on Bing.

Looking around and I see many people having the same problem and Bing just doing nothing about it.

is this Bing and Google's way of trying to screw with us!

I hear ya'... and it's about time they BOTH had a competitor search engine that could serve the public instead of only their pocket books.

My bad... didn't realize you had NOT resolved this issue. Am guessing that Frank hasn't either. Have you checked with Frank yet?

Is you sitemap being created by a SEO plugin feature or another added plugin.

A few years ago i remember using Google sitemap plugin iwth some challenges. Then I switched to using the SEO sitemap feature of AIOSEO and have not had a problem since. It took a little time to get used to the fact that many of the sitemap plugins create a link to view the detailed link list of all posts. It never used to be way.

AIOSEO plugin.

It obviously has something to do with Google Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.

With the problems that people have been having with Google recently who knows.

It happened to my 3 sites in the past.

Right now I have one, rather unimportant to me, completely missing. I contacted them several days ago and got a reply they would get back within 10 days.

In the previous cases, they admitted this was their fault, but did not elaborate. The sites were restored after that.

Something I guess I'm going to have to keep an eye on.

In my cases nothing was wrong with site maps, just sites completely disappeared in their search engine.

But they can be contacted, which is not so with Google, at least from my experience in the past.

How about resubmitting a sitemap?

I have done that Abbie on both accounts but why it happened in the first place is beyond me.

When I checked there were 3 sitemaps and the one that it was using was one with just 1 URL.

Weird.

Very weird actually.

However, I hope you were able to figure it out.
