Hello all,
should I remove the site kit and if yes why?
if I remove it will it affect my readings from GSC or GA?
How would I add Adsense if I remove it or should I do that First?

Hi Lisa,
Partha has made a lot of valid comments. A similar question was asked and I do believe it was Diane S who may have contributed to the answer.

Bottom line from what I read was that Site Kit causes more problems than solutions. Sorry I do not have a better answer. From what I understand there has been an update to site kit since the above link was posted.

Best wishes,
Michael

adsense requires the ads.txt to be added and this is covered in ad inserter -there is a special place for it ....
as others have said just log into your accounts -i have them set as bookmarks and log straight into them
the tag codes from google analytics and search console can be added to ad inserte as per my just ot make sure the code is stil lthere
i found a site that wil lcheck that your site have analytics added to each page ( if it is in the head section it will be) gachecker.com
have fun

Hi Lisa,

SiteKit can be a bit glitchy and a bit buggy (for a want of better words/adjectives).

This in itself can slow your site down and will have an impact of individual page speed too (although I think Adsense does this anyway).

As Abie has mentioned, once you have GSC and GA set up, simply log directly into them, rather than from SiteKit.

Additonally, you can use the Ad Inserter plugin to place Adsense ads on your site.

I think Nathaniel has a fantastic tutorial on how to use this.

Hold on, Abie's got you again.

What would we do without Abie and those links???

From now on Abie is known as "Linky" to me, LOL.

But obviously in a kind and loving way.

Tbh, I've got SiteKit activated on my sites, but I don't use Adsense, and I always log directly into GSC and GA.

Admittedly, my site speed is fantastic, but I have used "secret, special, advanced" methods to achieve this, Hahaha.

So, you've just inspired me to remove it myself.

Thanks
Partha

Thanks for the answer. Would adding another plugin not also slow my site down?

I would like to know that as well?

I believe if a plugin is well coded, it should not, no.

Haha,

The "Secret" method is known as paying someone to sort out CSS and Javascript, as well as optimizing all your images.

Then installing the premium WP Rocket Plugin.

All my pages and posts are 100 on desktop

And for mobile, all pages and posts are between 97-100.

I'm not particularly great with the technical side of things, so it was just easier to get someone else to sort it out for me.

However, I still check speed regularly, never had any issues since, but my "helper" is availlable whenever I need him.

I will also say since sorting out site speed most of my articles shot up in rankings.

Great comments. And I"d like to ask, how do you check the speed of your site. I don't seem to have a speed problem. Things load fairly quickly. But maybe that isn't what you mean...

Hi Dan,

As long as your websites are hosted at Wealthy Affiliate you can check the individual speed of each page.

If not, you can also use Google Page Insights.

Just click on the "WEBSITES" tab at the top of the page here at WA.

Then click on "SITE MANAGER"

Scroll down to the website you want to check (if you have more than one website)

Then you'll notice a Site Health bar, click on "VIEW DETAILS"

You'll see a clickable link "SITEPLUS+"

Click on that and then scroll down to the section "PAGESPEED INSIGHTS".

Then if you click each indivdual blue clickable link next to your articles you will receive a score out of 100 for both desktop and mobile page speed.

It works as a traffic light system, so red is bad, amber means could be improved, and green is good.

Hope that helps.
