I digress, but I think I spelled it correctly. I just wanted to add that I have five plugins and know that I need four. I came to the conclusion that the Image Optimizer is the least essential out of the four. Any advice on how many plugins are too many and when to let it slide?

Thanks!

Hi Elijah,
I have found it impossible to have just to have five plugins. The key is exterminating with them for me anyway.

I did delete the Kraken image plugin and am using Smush with Lazy load instead.

My speeds are all in the green with 3 mobile speeds in the yellow, this is with the use of 7 plugins.

All the best,

Michael

I have at least a dozen plugins and my site is performing great. I also have a good theme, which could be a reason why it's so. But there's no such thing as the 5 plugins rule. Ideally, you want to keep the number as low as possible. But you simply can't. As your site grows, so will the number of your plugins.

You want your images optimized! So don't delete Kraken unless you want to instal some other plugin for optimizing your images. One of the first rules to improving your site speed is optimizing your images. One plugin more will not slow down your site speed, but 100's of un-optimized images will kill your site.

Yeah, I am going to keep it. I just notice my plugin percentage tends to hover between 70%-90%. What is the plugin for faster indexing? As you can see, I am on a roll.

Yes, you are, Elijah! I’m extremely happy for you. I wish more people like you join WA and I’m more than happy to be a part of your journey.

You don’t need a plugin for faster indexing. However, the good practice would be to submit your new posts to Google Search Console and request manual indexing. Do you know how to do so?

There really is not secret sauce to the plugin battle, 5 is recommended but as many as are absolutely needed to achieve your customer experience can be used. More plugins equal more code and more potential security leaks but most of my sites have a round 7 plugins and load very fast.

Thanks! This really gives me a rough perspective on what to expect optimally.

It's Kraken and it's one of the best image optimizer. Image optimization is the one of the most vital plugins you need, Site speed is one of the core ranking factors with huge emphasis in mobile search. You need a fast loading site and 1 image in a post can outweigh all of its content if not optimized.

Okay. Thanks. I am going to check that out. Everything is in the green this far. I'm happy about that.
