Hi, same as Phil, you ought check you theme elements i.e. Appearance > Customize and see if you can untick something within.

I looked elsewhere, and I learned it is very possible a theme thing and also if you were to remove tags, it may give a 404 error in google webmasters.

it might be under appearance - customize
but will be theme dependant
you could use siteorigin css to hide them with css
what theme are you using Norma

That's the first thing I tried was customize appearance but none of the options even mentioned tags. I'm using the blossom theme.

try adding this to appearance - customize - additional css
.single .site-main article .entry-footer {
visibility: hidden;
}
and check your site fully to make sure everything else is working
this was found with the siteorigin css plugin
